A decent premise is still there, I still find the title character reasonable interesting. Can’t see where it will go from here.
I think that's the main problem, not enough of it is about him. it's a shame as the first series started so well.

For it's an OK show. It's mid range fare for HBO. It's as slick and well produced as The Sopranos, it's not unrealistic but there isn't anyone I really care about, the family are dicks. I do like Bunchy, but he is fked up. I wanted Ray to get with the reporter...though I have to say, I was really pleased that Mick won the money.

I agree, seemed entertaining at first when it was more about his job but the family took over and it got a bit tedious for me. I didn't care at all about Mickey and struggled to see why the rest of the family would, the FBI boss etc just got even sillier.

Yeah, his job as a 'fixer' was the best bit.
But I do like his brothers, but his wife/kids can be dropped in the bin.

I've thought this for a while now. It's a shame as it had such potential.

Did anyone else watch Rush? The first season just finished and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yup, thoroughly enjoying it. He's a great character.

I've been recommended this a few times. I'm going to give it a try soon.

Is this the series where Ray loses it?

I use Skynevermiss to avoid these mishaps.

I'm sick to my back teeth of the Micky character. So much so it could be enough to jack the show in.

He's totally unlikable, basically fks anyone and everyone over including his own family for his own gain. I just think it's unbelievable.

Did Jon Voight sign some long running contract up front or something?

I seem to recall he was meant to die at the end of the first series, but they liked him so much he got a reprieve - but it doesn't seem as if they've got much use for him now, unless things pick up.

Enjoyed the first one though, mostly Ray doing his thing, they MUST have caught onto the fact that's what the fans are after, at least anyone who I've ever spoken to about it anyway.

That episode would have fueled an entire season for some US series, so I was surprised to see it all over so quickly.

Good to see McShane back again.

I suspect if anyone could be arsed enough to count, I wouldn't be surprised if Micky is in the show nearly as much if not more than Ray.

Makes a bit of a mockery of the shows title wink

Interesting to hear that he was only supposed to be in it for the first season. That would have made more sense.

I really liked the first couple of seasons but really can't stand Mickey now. He's clearly shoehorned in more because he's a 'big name' and his character is starting to grate.

If I'm honest, none of the story lines are particularly any good so far this season, Mickey's would be funny if they weren't so bad. I'm actually on the verge of jacking it in, it's getting progressively worse. I said it ages back but the story needs to get back to Ray being a 'fixer' which is the entire premise of the show. It's become too 'soap opera'. I don't give a monkey's about the children or that Shirley Temple audition. Frankly the show's a mess.

Edit: I reckon this won't get a season 4.

Agree totally, it was a good idea originally but got lost in all the family stuff and Jon Voight.
