Another good episode this week. Like having Hank Azaria back. Some trouble brewing for Ray though with the clearing up of the murder and the mobsters.

Turning out to be possibly the best series.

I agree, they've turned it around (and oddly enough by focussing more on Ray, Avi and the business side of things than on the kids and Mickey). It's all the better for it.

Hank is a good baddie.
I did think him getting into Avi's lock-up was a tad simple though.

Chaps I am torn

I am coming to the end of S1 and its ok but not blowing me away, I have skimmed the thread and cannot decide whether to continue or cut my losses and move onto something else

A mate said S2 was ste and I shouldn't bother, is it worth persevering with? Or time to move onto something new like Narcos?

Tricky one that. If you weren't blown away by S1 then you wont get much pleasure from S2. S3 is definitely worth watching but without seeing S2 a lot wont make sense.

It's a decent enough show, but I don't think it gets into HBO's top ten.

Its ok but having skimmed the thread my main issues with the show seem to still be there so am unsure, might park it for a bit at the end of S1 and see if I get drawn back

A worthy replacement to Dexter. Showtime are ahead of most and know what the general public enjoy.

Spoiler alert for Ep10

Seriously? Being suspicious of a missing poker in a strangers house? Where the f*ck would that come from? And getting into Avi's lockup so easily, who just happens to bag up and leave stuff like that lying around?

Full on rolleyes and groaning at this episode, it's pretty poor based on the rest of the season.

Oh and please, for the love of God please don't make Abby and Terry an item/affair

Although I did laugh at:

Yeah, Mickey does have his moments. I think when Mickey is lighter and working with Ray, it is better.
I think if this had been an HBO, it would be a tad slicker.

I think he was highly suspicious of it all when he saw Ray was involved and was looking for things. He seemed to notice the fireplace twice and then say something was missing. It probably would look out of place in a pristine house like that. Where would the poker be?

The lock up was some dodgy joint with some youngster working there. You really think most wouldn't take a wedge of cash for a key? As for them keeping the evidence I guess they are keeping hold of anything in case they need to use against Lovejoy at a later date.

I think they have taken too long to get to this point that they have resolved that entire bit in less than one episode which makes it seem less believable.

But yes don't make the affair story that would be terrible.

Anyone watch the latest episode? I don't know what it is but this season must have picked up somewhere for me as it's probably the first thing I'll watch out of a few things on a Monday. A lot (too much IMO) happened in this episode.

The whole Ray getting framed thing by Love Joy was raised in one episode and then pretty much solved and resolved in Ray's favor in this episode. At one point Love Joy seemed pretty formidable but in the end was just a bit weak Ray still held a lot of cards when he was trying to set him up.

Rays Mrs and Brother getting it on, seen it coming but didn't think they'd go there. Yawn.

Same with the daughter and the teacher-yawn.

The son wanting to nail the prostitute, pretty funny.

Micky I generally think it one of the worst things about the show but quite liked his double cross on Ray.

Expect the last episode will be the Armenians coming back for revenge hopefully Micky dies, expect something vaguely tragic like Rays brothers new wife catching some friendly fire.

I thought the Armenian singer fixed that for them?

The singer got Mick out of bed with the Armenians but when they were leaving the restaurant one of the Armenians saw them being tailed. Later when they were busted on the docks he saw the same guy confirming he was a cop and put 2 and 2 together.

That was a good season ending.

I was late to this, almost gave up early on but glad I didn't because it has continued to get better and better.

It was very good, agreed.

Though you can imagine Connor returning to the house wondering where the hell everyone was and what he'd missed!...
