What's everyone's verdict on the season?

Thought it definitely got better as it went on the Abbie stuff went on a bit and Susan Sarandon was underused but decent I thought.

The weakest so far. 6/10. I’d put the others 9/10. It spent too much time going back to Abby and her demise.

It has been renewed and will be based in New York apparently.

After everything that the character has done I wonder why it's taken me this long to think "Jumped the shark" but his last act in last season was way too open to witnesses to be slightly plausible going forward.

For me it's Eddie Marsan I love watching. Possibly the finest actor currently plying his trade in American TV?

I have to admit I gave up after episode 3/4. Partly because my MIL passed from Cancer a few years ago and, even by the wrist slitting standards of this series, it wasn't fun to watch in our house.

I was glad to read about the relocation, so much had gone on in LA that was a bit of a dead end story-wise.

Sadly for me though it will always be a bit of a disappointment - for a 'Hollywood' fixer, a subject matter that seemed a brilliant idea for a TV show, he rarely actually did any, it seemed as soon as his Dad turned up it became a sort of Violent Soap Opera, when it was good, it was great, but a lot of the time it was pretty depressing, it seems sometimes that Hollywood can only portray Irish Americans as self-destructive failures.

I'll pick it up again next year and see if it's more my cup of tea, but I've decided not to bother with this years series, it felt like a 12 hour torture session played in reverse. I'm told it got better as it went along.

Worst yet, ditch the time jump premise and get back to normal.
Another mainstream show has also done this same this season (TWD) and it's equally as gash!

I kind of lost interest after 3/4 episodes, which I never did in any of the other series . I think I’ll have another go though. Sounds like it gets better.

Just been rewatching this, series 3 to series 4, series 5 started this week.

I forgot how good it was...though I wanted the kids shot every scene they're in.
I lost track of the fifth series, so it'll be a ice new watch...I'd forgotten how the one with Lovejoy had gone as well....after series 4, I even like his dad now.

well I watched S5E12, and then I watched S6E1, damn that was good, one needs 5 years of telly to have tv like that.
weird to see Ray in NYC 'urban attire.' biggrin

Watching S5 in quick succession, damn, those kids, I don't recall hating the kids in the Sopranos so much and they were whiny sts, their onscreen time was reduced though, which was good cas I just want them shot every time they're onscreen. S5E12 though, it reminded me of the best of GoT with everyone working their angle, you didn't know how'd it go.

yes thak goodness, after all that though, the last scene that Ray has with the son, is rather good, his son finally vocalises what we're all thinking, and the scene with the daughter in s6e1, that was cold, ray is pretty fked up up now. Towards the end of s5 there wasn't anyone I really liked, though I swing back and forth on Ray, he's just too fked up. It was rather sad to see him becoming his father and his relationship with the kids just dissolving

I stopped watching Ray midway through S4, didn't watch S5 at all and it ended up being spoilt for me anyway.

Now season 6 is on I started watching it, got really into it and after about half an hour turned it off and realised is should probably go back and watch the end of S4 and all of S5.

Is it worth going back? As I've heard some bad reviews?

Or shall I just continue with S6?

I don't want any major characters and plots appearing and me not knowing wtf is going on.
