Agree, as stated before I've never been totally comfortable with Batman getting involved with other heroes, especially super powered ones. Firstly his character isn't really the type to play well with others and secondly and more importantly at the end of the day he is a man dressed as a Bat. Yes he is quite clever etc and is more than capable of going up against the likes of the Joker et all but against some of the god like beings that are quite often found in the DC Universe, what can he REALLY bring to the table?

Putting a "realistic" Nolan-esque Batman into the totally OTT world set out in MoS just doesn't make sense to me at all.

I think a massive thread of story in MOS was the dad, the father, the mentor.

Both his father figures were big parts of the story and a real guide and education on him as a man and what he should be as a hero (what is right, what is wrong?)

I think the scene where Jonathan tells him to stay back and protects MOS secret at the cost of his own life is again the influence of the the father.

So I think that this is where the older and wiser batman comes in, not a father exactly but a mentor, "this is how to live duel identities" for example and so on. This MOS does not have all the answers and has a lot to learn, and will no doubt face a backlash from the result of the end of the last film, the destruction of the metropolis and the killing of Zod.

And no doubt the Lex in this new film will find a weakness to MOS, he has to or there will be no film, be it the introduction of Kryptonite or Lois Lane, and this is where the MOS will realise that no matter how powerful he is, he needs friends.

All IMO of course. Batman is currently getting a lot of backlash for the "with enough prep time batman can beat anyone" attitude. But he is still a very good and very developed and 3 dimensional character.

I feel (as do many others) that the biggest hurdle for this movie will be how they get around the 'super human' vs 'standard human' problem.

After watching MOS, there is no way that Batman can go 'toe-to-toe' with Superman. It just wouldn't work, Batman would be dead after one punch.

With that in mind, I can only see it being handle in one of two ways.

1) Batman finds out how to weaken Superman and level the playing field which could see the introduction of Kryptonite or blocking out the sun. I'm guessing Lex would then steal this secret from Batman and attempt world domination by crippling Superman. Bats and Superman then team up etc etc....

2) We get a new Batman suit! I read somewhere that only a handful have seen the new suit and the comments are that 'it's awesome and like nothing we've seen before'. Therefore I reckon it could be a super Batman suit, something seriously enhanced that takes Batman up to Superman's level. This also fits in nicely with some of the comic stuff as Lex has a super robotic suit he uses as well, so maybe he steals the tech from Batman...?

So yeah, either Superman gets weaker or Batman gets stronger.

I reckon you may be onto something here.

You seem to be implying Batman is against Superman. I know they've not always seen eye-to-eye in the comics but openly against him?

Don't like the super-batsuit idea. Would turn Batman into Iron Man.

Yes:

"Goyer stated at the Superman 75th Anniversary Panel at Comic-Con, that Superman and Batman will face off, and titles under consideration are Superman vs Batman or Batman vs Superman."

Not to mention:

"Filming commenced on October 19, 2013, at East Los Angeles College to shoot a football game between Gotham City University and rival Metropolis State University."

I assume the match will be representation of Batman against Superman.

I'm guessing that Batman and Superman will initally fight each other, then form a truce to take on a greater threat; which I think we can safely summise will be Luther. Then a short appearance/cameo from Wonder Woman and possibly John Stewart (who I hear is being played by The Rock...!), setting the foundations for the Justice League film.

I only suggest this as Snyder came out early doors and said that he was using 'The Dark Knight Returns' as inspiration for the film. In that miniseries, Superman is weakened by a nuclear blast and Batman is using an exosuit.

And is a really cool exo-skeleton and not really comparable to the armour of Iron-Mn.

Oh yes, that role was made for the Rock.

And NOT, I repeat NOT Ryan Reynolds.

He however was perfect for Deadpool, but then they cocked that up too.

Actually I'd hoped Idris Elba would play Green Lantern/John Stewart. There was even a few 'fan art' posters kicking around. Not sure how The Rock will get on with this, you kind of need to act...

I still maintain that the best superhero role for Ryan Reynolds was always The Flash. He just naturally fits Flash's character so well, giving him Green Lantern was a crime.

Ooh yes, Elba would be perfect-er.

And yep, agree with Flash too, though I still think he was a very good Deadpool, before they got to the bit where he had his mouth sewn up and was all topless and tattoo-ey.

Not quite, the blast comes earlier in the book. Batman gets an accomplice to fire a kryptonite-tipped arrow at Superman (and distracts him swith some surface-to-air missiles) then stuns him with Gotham City's entire power grid.

It takes a bit to down a God.

Idris would be good, tall and has a large frame to pack muscle on.

Rock can act, he just normally chooses really really st films. Strange after such a promising start...

That bit was played by a different actor.

Yeah I know, I was more referring to how they gave Deadpool a new look rather than the well known red and black suit. But then they didn't use Wolverine's yellow outfit either.

A point alluded to in the first X-Men film.

(Wolverine gets sniffy about their outfits)

"Well, what would you prefer? Yellow spandex?"

I don't really compare Watchmen and The Avengers. Watchmen is so involving and adult, whereas The Avengers is entertaining and glitzy.
