So, Batman to appear in man of steel sequel...

I'm sure affleck can get the size on, but he shapes up differently. Big shoulders but thin neck. And he has a chin like a fat bird's arse.

That's it, i'm out. Last one out turn the fking light off.
Indeed. Jermey Irons as Alfred I can live with but Jessie Eisenberg!? Really? That's it, i'm out. Last one out turn the fking light off.
I was just ready to give Affleck a chance but this might be a step too far.
High water mark.

They probably would have been fine if it wasn't for the Nolan trilogy, they cast a very very long shadow indeed, stunning films but a lesson to DC in how not to do it. Marvel tied up (nearly) all the rights to their main characters and a very clear path of where to go with their movie universe when they started.
DC are trying to jump on the same band wagon a bit late in the game and it all feels a little hodge-podged and rushed. It's going to have to be really good to stand apart from Nolan's films.
Anyone think it's true that Bale turned down really silly money to don the cap again?
Wouldnt surprise me. I think the other key factor was nolan ending his involvement. He leaves, bale leaves, even hans zimmer leaves. Then they get the dick from fashionably male to play batman, cram wonderwoman in (a character that's going to be a real stretch to present credibly) and top it off by getting some fking eight year old slamfaced fking kid to play luthor.DC are trying to jump on the same band wagon a bit late in the game and it all feels a little hodge-podged and rushed. I didnt rate watchmen, it was too big for snyder to handle.
Imagine if nolan had made that.
I'm a long-time Watchmen fan and I reckon Snyder nailed it, including making the ending more believable (although I'm not sure "believable" is the right word for a film about superheroes).Imagine if nolan had made that.
It worked for me. He struck exactly the right tone.
Opinions, opinions, of course, of course.
I think the other think about watchmen that didnt do it for me was the casting. Quite a few of them didnt quite feel right in the roles for me.

Sorry for not rereading the whole thread in cases it's been said already, but whats the verdict in here, is Ben going to be worse than Clooney? Or will Clooney forever be the George Lazenby of Batman?
You know what's stupid? In a decent filum clooney could have been a brilliant bruce wayne.frisbee said:
Because we've seen Man of Steel, Sucker Punch and Daredevil maybe?
300 and Watchmen are better but they don't live up to the source material. Affleck is pretty good in his later films but he needs a good director to get the best out of him.
Avengers 2 was a bit of a dud but the directors Marvel chooses for its films aren't Michael Bay knockoffs.

Look at man of steel, it's an amalgam of the last real input nolan had, padded out by snyder. The film is disjointed and inconsistent in the approach it takes to real character and emotion (nolan) and large scale destruction/action set pieces (snyder).
I'm a huge fan of batman, properly lifetime obsessed, but i'm really struggling to get into this one. Go back and look at dark knight, any bit of it, then watch that new trailer again. It's not in the same league.
