Constantine would be so cool if it was set in Liverpool. I'll guess, it is not. biggrin

DC and Warner had the perfect opportunity to steal a march on their rivals at Marvel by using the same actors in the TV shows as in the films. Yet they are using a different actor for the Flash having only cast TV flash recently. One of the reasons people like the Marvel films in the idea of a shared universe. This proved popular in the comics over four decades ago.

They should have sought contracts for actors in tv and film thereby creating far better continuity and ensuring a wider audience for both. There are now Arrow, Flash and Gotham on air with Constantine about to launch.

Opportunity missed.
Couldnt agree more. even Marvels TV series The S.H.I.E.L.D. has shared actors, would of made alot more sense to keep it in house.

...and not surprising at all.

In The Dark Knight Returns (which B vs S is apparently based on) new Robin is a girl. Nightwing also makes an apperance, be interesting to see if they bring him in on this.

The bloke called Robin smile

The Dark Knight Returns isn't the last trilogy, it's much better smile

The Nolan series? Robin's not in it, a deliberate decision by Nolan.

I believe Joshsl is refering to Joseph Gordon Levitt; who give his birth name as Robin and finds the batcave at the end of The Dark Knight Rises.

It was a little teaser by Nolan, but I doubt they will run with it for Batman vs Superman.

Carrie Kelley it is then; looks like this movie could be very interesting. I wonder how closely they will mirror TDK Returns; Green Arrow...?

First creative decision on this project i can get behind: until they cast someone too old as they always do with robin.

Still excited about this.

Lots of new pictures floating about, including some lovely shots of the suits on display at Comic-Con:

So it looks pretty much nailed on now that this will follow very closely to certain parts of The Dark Knight Returns.

The Exo Batsuit looks lifted directly from the comics and the normal Batsuit is very much TDK Returns. Starting to get very excited about this now!

On a side note; Affleck has announced he will be starring and directing the new standalone Batman film.....

Being Batman I can accept, just. His directing billings are limited and a bit hit and miss. Christ knows how this will pan out.

Im still struggling to buy into Affleck as Batman.

From the announcement of Bale most everyone got it right away after what he had done before. You could see him as Bruce Wayne in American Pschyco and as someone who can fight from Equilibrium.

Affleck was Daredevil and was dogst. Also the Man of Steel film is 90mins of Building smashing.

Completely get where you are coming from, but Affleck has improved a bit as an actor over the last few years.

The good thing is that this film is follow Batman as he is in The Dark Knight Returns, which is an older, miserable and fairly unhinged character. If it was a storyline that required some serious acting, I might be concerned; but this Batman should be a fairly easy one to play.

Id expect less batsuits in order to make a more unhinged batman film.

Unhinged was probably the wrong word to use; he's more driven and willing to break the rules.

I won't want to spoil the comics for anybody that hasn't read them, but Batman does a lot of things in The Dark Knight Returns that he wouldn't usually do and it makes him a much darker character. It's what finally brings him head to head with Superman.

Superman will be interesting in this film too; he's a government lackey in the comics. I wonder if that will be the case for the film...?

Ive read the comics and agree with you fully. Its why I hoped for a stripped down violent batman. It should be Taken meets the punisher almost. Just a man who is smarter than most of his enemies and more than happy to do what he wants to get st down (Damn that's corny)

Batman is the best super hero (Not my fav mind that's Iron Man) and the reason is simpley because hes just a human who is ruthless.
