I'm genuinely quie sad about this.

Just makes bales batman look like even more of a one off golden age. Looks like we won't see that level of quality again.

He wasn't my first guess at who would play Batman

Don't forget when Heath Ledger was announced as The Joker there were plenty of negative comments

There is nothing we can do so may as well wait and see how he plays it

I wonder will he try the Bale Growl ?

And there goes any hope of that film being any good.

Poor decision.
I've loved Batman from when I was little and the days of Adam West and shark repellent but will not make an effort to watch this one.
IMO the Bale series of film was the best ever. Dark, serious and decent actors.
Ben No-Effect is ste, Daredevil was ste and I suspect Batman vs Superman will be ste.

I'm out, rant over!!

He'll be better than Kilmer/Clooney.

Kind of surprised by this but I don't really mind Affleck.

I just think the Superman / Batman concept is rubbish. I even hated it in Dark Knight Returns - if Frank Miller can't make it convincing I doubt Zack Snyder can.

If you hate the concept, why bother seeing the films?!

I'm pretty sure geezer was alluding to the fact that he likes them individually but the both of them sharing screen\comic page time just doesn't work and I 100% agree.

Still Ben Affleck, it just doesn't get any better than that, I bet a million fanboys are crying into their Batman capes as we speak :rfol:

Wasn't aware that a Batman / Superman mashup had been released? Have I missed it?

Keep the characters separate and they work. Bring them together...not so much.

Surprised he agreed to do it, he'd done some ropey films and Daredevil was rubbish, he admitted that is was and found the concept of wearing a suit with fake muscles silly. Given his success as a director with the likes of Argo this seems to be a cash-in retrograde move.

Will see how it goes.

Sorry, your post said you hate the concept of Bat/Supes and you hated it in TDKR. This implied you hated the concept of Batman in that film - got the wrong end of the stick, apols.

Ben Affleck.. just what were they thinking? Maybe Adam Sandler was already booked.

Hey, why not get Robin Williams in as Joker / Riddler and Minnie Driver as Poison Ivy and we have a full-on Good Will Hunting reunion?
