The couple with the four children, am sure I must have heard wrong but, thought they said they had been receiving over seven hundred pounds a week - please tell me my ears were deceiving me.

that makes it ok then! lol
its a bizzare world / country we live in where this is considered acceptable.

love the attitude, that they feel they are entitled to live in an area at tax payers exspense.
as far as im concerend, they should love where ever is offered to them.
Of they want to stay in an area, they can get a job, work hard and suffer paying the premium for the pleasure.

I know the 'big screen telly' thing gets wheeled out all too often, but I did 'enjoy' the family shown with the electric jeep for the kids, the iPhones, the discussion with the council about perhaps giving up Sky and the US style fridge which would have easily housed the whole family.

They seemed, as portrayed, to be taking the piss.

Her face was a picture when it was politely suggested that they might want to get rid of Sky!
Although the chap from the DSS looked like he had seen it all before.

I did think to myself whilst I was watching it that we were lucky that we could provide a comfortable life for our kids who were the same age as that family, i.e warm and well fed with clean clothes, warm baths, trips out etc, not extravagant by any means, but they don't without at all.
Then it struck me, it's not luck at all, it's flippin hard work!
Then I got rather peeved, i'm getting out of bed at 5am to help pay for it all!

Cant help thinking, as she started talking about cutbacks etc such as the sky TV, that they had no intention of moving.
And that in reality, her husband was probably working on the side.
Their total household income substationally more than most.
The offer of giving up sky etc, was just some BS story. And unfortunatley the housing officer probably knows it as well, but they have little real term power to do anything about it.

Did I just hear that correctly? Lived and worked in this country for 25 years but doesn't know English so needed an interpreter? How is that even possible?

And jemel or whatever her name was pleading poverty covered in tats piercings and tatty jewellery couldn't understand why she was getting kicked out after admitting she hadn't paid rent. How could she not understand? And how can anyone moan they are skint but have an iPhone in their pocket?
