Schitt's Creek

Dad from American Pie plays obscenely wealthy businessman who loses everything overnight and has to move his family to a backward town he bought as a joke.

Pretty good, certainly raised a few laughs, onto season 2 at the moment.
I've got through it all, not to bad. It's an nice easy watch when you just can't be bothered. The next series isn't on until January next year.

Considering how good all the other Marvel adaptations have been (currently watching Daredevil, have seen Jessica Jones and Luke Cage) Iron Fist is just... bad.

Finn Jones seems horrendously miscast to me. Danny Rand is supposed to be a mature, calm martial arts legend, and they've chosen an actor who portrays him like some teen drama twink.

1st timers lock up is very depressing to watch, those kids, some 14 spent 4 years in jail. America really does the place where they lock you up to solve the problem.

I heard on German radio this morning that there is a new documentary series out now about WW2 bombers called 'Five Came Back'.

Looking forward to this.

I'm currently half way through season 2 of Rake, the Aussie TV series. It the best thing I've watched on Netflix for a while. Thanks to whoever mentioned it earlier in this thread.
Agree totally, just finished S1 and loved it.
I'm a few episodes into Rake and am hooked.
I've just finished Season 1 - brilliant! Thanks for the recommendation.

pretty good

The Reluctant Fundamentalist

pretty good about Islamic terrorists and how they effect normal Muslims. a bit preachy and lacks a finesse to execution but worth a watch.

Discovery
Netflix Original.
Robert Redford discovers there is an afterlife.
The world reacts rather badly and in the meantime he and his son(s) struggle with their own personal demons about death.
A slow, kooky thoughtful drama... nearly fell asleep... but didn't. The ending of course posed suitably deep questions.

not bad.

I enjoyed it as well. Did it feel like the pilot for a TV series to you?

I watched 9th Company again as it popped up on Netflix.

Gritty Russian war drama about Afghanistan in 1988, filmed ala Full Metal Jacket.

We just subscribed to netflx this weekend, have to say i am loving it . cheaper than a tv licence and we didnt watch any live tv anyway or i player etc. Just working from my home workshop and binge watching Being Human , the uk version, cracking as i worked on it for mfx but never got round to seeing it . thinking now of sacking off the tv licence as all we need is here when we want to watch it. just had a reminder through saying tv licence due next month... sod that . cant remember the last time we watched a live broadcast anyway. tv is usually off unless we watch dvds or blu rays or stuff from the hard drives, we have no reason to record either .what with other catch up tv ( non bbc) might as well save a 147 quid a year. her indoors got me a years netflix sub as a birthday pressie and watching that is cracking . love they have a lot of oldies and cult stuff too .
