The Rise is worth a watch, as northern lads gain revenge via a heist...

Started watching the first season of 'Legit' last night on US Netflix..
Am now about 5 episodes into this now, and haven't seen any series as funny as this for as long as I can remember. The last episode I watched where he is getting annoyed with a fat bloke sitting next to him on a plane had me in stitches, and I could so relate to it....

the edge (1997)

I liked this: Billionaire Antony Hopkins and photographer Alec Baldwin crash in the mountains and have to survive using their wits. Good, gritty, thriller / drama, done so well you expect their to be a "based on the true story" at the end of the credits.

Well worth a watch

Think it may be new to Netflix but not sure as they have taken away the new option but trailer park boys is now on Netflix and they are commissioning 2 new series.

Trailer Park boys is up, I started re-watching it again the other night when I saw they'd added it. What a brilliant program.

Thumbs up for Trailer Park Boys, re-discovering The Thick of It, House of Cards (Spacey does a good Urquhart). My son's enjoying Suites at the moment.

Safety not guaranteed - a man puts an advert in a newspaper looking for a partner to go time travelling with, instigating a magazine to send a team of reports to investigate. It's a quirky comedy that's worth checking out.

The office usa - not seen the uk version but found this to be pretty funny.

That's a great documentary, watched it a few times. Great soundtrack by DJ Shadow too....

Cropsey is a bit disturbing and unsettling but a strangely compelling documentary.

Trailer Park Boys is amazing and really lends itself to the Netflix binge-watching style that I like to do. Done the first two seasons now. Knock knock.

The dialogue is brilliant, isn't it? Great show. Hopefully they will make a 3rd series. I think we started series 2 on a friday evening and were finished by sunday morning...!
Cracking dialogue and great characters; e.g. the totally inappropriate NAV worker Jan Johansen is great value.

3rd series has already started filming apparently. biglaugh
Started this at the weekend instead of Boardwalk. I'm very impressed. Him and Torgeir make a great on screen duo.

ETA to correct characters.

My main use for Netflix (aside from the big stuff like House of Cards etc) is for the documentaries, there are some great ones on there. For me some of the "must see" ones are:

Dirty Wars
We are Legion
Religulous
Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet
Bones Brigade: An Autobiography
Mansome
You've been Trumped
The Muslims Are Coming!
Pandora's Promise
Pulling John
Indie Game: The Movie
Food, Inc
Bobby Fischer Against the World (who knew chess was so full of drama?)

The last things I watched were "Gumball 3000: Coast to Coast" from the 2009 event and "Craigslist Joe" which was OK. My current "go to" series is the "From Dusk Till Dawn" thing.

"Rescue Me" was good but they seem to have taken that away from the UK.

Anyone on a mobile device can have a look around overseas content with a free app called "Tunnelbear" - if you tweet something from the app they give you a bigger allowance on the free version.
