Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
The original 1974 'Taking of Pelham 123' still good after all these years.
'Lost in Translation' is brilliant, you watch it wondering when it's going to get started and after it's finished you realise how excellent it was all the way through.
I see 'Natural Born Killers' is on there now, might give that a watch soon, haven't seen it since it first came out.
Watched 'Legend of Barney Thomson' recently. Excellent turn from Emma Thompson playing well against type.

Quick question for you avid Netflickers:
Holiday in Greece this week - will I be able to plug my Amazon Firestick into the hotel TV and watch Netflix and Amazon Prime as per my normal UK subscriptions?
It will load up whatever content is available in Greece based on rights restrictions so you may find one of two things. Either more content before or less.Holiday in Greece this week - will I be able to plug my Amazon Firestick into the hotel TV and watch Netflix and Amazon Prime as per my normal UK subscriptions?
"Valley Uprising". A brilliant documentary on climbing in Yosemite over the decades, the achievements and the rivalries.
"Generations of beatniks and madmen drop out of society and take up a life of rock climbing on the massive granite walls of Yosemite National Park."

Withe The Green Room arriving in cinemas and gaining positive reviews for its "unbearable tension", I noticed that the director's previous film, Blue Ruin, is on Netflix. Worth a watch?
yes.there is no unbearable tension to speak of, but its a great story, well filmed, and done SUPER cheap! the lead actor is the director's mate..

Caught an excellent French police/drug mob drama set in Marseilles between 1975 - 81 'The Connection'. Made in 2014, it is a typical French production - strong characters and no smaltz. Some good period cars, too. The main protagonists drive a DS21 and armoured Merc 450 SEL 6.9. Great music soundtrack, too. Worth seeking out.

It's loosely the French side of the film 'The French Connection'. Loosely as in no relation to the original in anything but premise. But good. ajprice said:
Many things have been added today, according to Upflix, including Detectorists series 1, Being Human series 1-5, Bad Education series 1-2, Bob Ross, Hackers, Dark Skies, and that Alien Autopsy film that Ant and Dec did.
I fully recommend Detectorists for anyone who hasn't seen it!Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
