I thought the bit with the dead, not quite dead Afghani was about as bad as it gets.
I found myself really torn at that part. When they were saying "Give him aid, but not too much". I didn't know what way to think. He was never going to survive with half of his missing.

That noise will never be forgotten.
It was pretty awful, they just sat there and let a man slowly bleed to death who might have stood some sort of chance with aid, even if he didn't they could have given him morphine to make his last moments less painful (from what friends in the army have told me this is not uncommon for UK forces to do this)

However put yourself in there position, America suffered huge losses in Iraq and they had probably lost friends from insurgents like him, they also cant 'put him out of his misery'as they are being filmed. I always remember a mate of mine who served in the marines and did a few tours of Afghanistan telling me about a wounded Taliban member they shot taking shelter under a tree, he wouldn't lift his hands to show he was unarmed so they stood back and then walked away knowing he would die, but he would of been given aid had he listened. The enemy is only going to get basic first aid

I was entirely expecting them to jab some morphine in him if I'm honest. Probably would have been the most humane thing to do.

Entirely appreciate that there's no love loss between combatants in Afghanistan. Perhaps wasn't expecting it to be shown in such a blunt manner.

Same here. I thought they might have jabbed him with Morphine too. I think the complete carelessness was why it was so shocking. However it's war, it's not right, it's not pretty but I guess it must have that effect on the brain when you've seen you mates get blown/shot to pieces.

Anyway. Me and the wife binge watched 4 of stranger things last night. Utterly brilliant.

Just started watching Stranger Things tonight too. Looks excellent so far. Love the 80's throwback and that theme music.... simply sublime.
Started watching this last night, ended up watching 5 episodes in a row. I love it. It reminds me and has the same feel as JJ Abrams "Super 8"

Season 4 of 'Orange is the New Black' is very good.
Gets a bit dark and deep towards the end...

Yeah was a great find - came across it randomly on Netflix. If you haven't seen Coherence yet, then you will almost certainly like that one too! Very similiar setup but on a different subject matter.
Watched Coherence tonight. Enjoyed it, very trippy though! Any other recommendations?

'The One I Love'. Another good movie similar to Coherence. Hopefully it is still available on Netflix. Also I saw 'Rebirth' few days ago - pretty decent. Reminded me of 'The Game'.

I'm not feeling the love for Stranger Things.
I have watched 2 and am not bothered about seeing any more.
I think it's very clever the way it's caught the zeitgeist of the 80's but I fking hate stuff with child actors and and it also seems a bit hackneyed.

My issue is I feel the music is a little off. Yes the 80s songs and synth tracks are very good, but it often feels slightly out of place. For example nearly every scene has synth music. Someone opening a door? Synth music! Someone going up some stairs? Synth music! Random scene? Joy Division! It's like there was no thought put into the usage of the music other than "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we used this track here?"

Enjoyed Stranger Things and watching it with my son over the past week.

Reminded me of my childhood spent watching Gremlins, The Goonies and a bit of ET too.

Started Mr Robot on Amazon Prime, think its going to be good.

Waiting for new episodes of Power...
Quite like it but not quite dark enough.

Just finished Orange is the new black.
Great ending.
Will be a long wait until next series starts frown

Watched Total Recall (2012) last night. Enjoyable and better than I expected, in an explosions and car chases sort of way.
