Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
Enjoyed some me time this weekend with 'Occupied' season one. Norway invaded by Russia and 'Free Norway' resistance. Having spent some time in Bergen I found the story-line entirely believable with only a numpty for a Prime Minister letting things down. Looking forward to Season Two!

The Amanda Knox documentary is good if you're into that sort of programme.
7/10.
Agreed. Watch it and 7/10.
A) Be astounded that people still believe in/the hypocrisy of religion and how people let it influence their professional lives,
B) How/why Princess Diana died and the culture surrounding it,
C) Just how hideous the DM and its reporters are and how ignorant people who get their opinions from the DM must be
D) The misogyny driving the the whole circus - fat white male 40/50 something camera crews, paparazzi and reporters ogling over an attractive 20 something female. Quite unbelievable given that the trial was only 6 years ago remember... Thankfully it now looks like something out of the dark ages.
Can you actually believe that the police purposefully went into her cell, faked blood tests and then told her that she had AIDS in an attempt to destabilise her?! Then convicted her?!
I'm capable of realising that it was a one sided documentary (obvious lack of make up and frumpy clothes in an attempt to counter the image of her portrayed by the media for example), but as a snapshot on the attitudes of the media of the not too distant past, it is very interesting/scary. As I say it's like the dark ages; akin to watching a documentary on 1970's attitude to policing and ethnic minorities.
Disregarding her guilt or innocence, the Italian Sherlock Holmes loving detective sounded (or was edited to make him sound) incompetent; jumping to conclusions on what seemed the flimsiest of evidence. The whole system appeared to back him up, too.
And the DM reporter was just shamelessly vile.

Watched this over the weekend. Only really knew a little about this story and it was interesting to fill in the details.

If what was shown was true, surely Knox should have compensation for wrongful imprisonment, as the evidence (again, if what was shown it true) pointed to her and her boyfriend not being there at all on the night of the murder.

my inability to switch of or be beaten by a 'Series' is killing me. And my Wine Cellar.
Last night - 1:30am and too much Pinot still refusing to be beaten by Sons Of Anarchy ! I can see the finishing line ! I am half way through Series 6...... (just one. more. episode.....)
and then I see Homeland has a new series up on it too !
Its killing me !
zzzzzzzz
Unless it has the reputation of being absolutely amaaaazing, we're loathe to start something that already has 5+ series. Too much of a commitment.Last night - 1:30am and too much Pinot still refusing to be beaten by Sons Of Anarchy ! I can see the finishing line ! I am half way through Series 6...... The Shield was one we dropped out of. Three series watched, and plenty more to go, but there's too much good TV out there to spend two months on one programme.

Just started on Stranger things, about 3 episodes in. Very good so far, and I really thought I wouldn't like it at all. I generally dislike something like this.
Definitely recommend to anyone!
I just noticed it's the 3D or 4th highest viewer rated tv series ever on IMDb. Found it in UK Netflix and thought I might give it a go too. I wonder how I missed it TBH. Definitely recommend to anyone!
Just seen it's even got a thread about it.
