Anyone been watching Shooter?
Very American-hero in a Jack Reacher type way but as long as you can leave your cynicism behind it is totally compulsive and utterly brilliant.
One of those little gems that you cannot stop watching the next one of until it's 2am and you're up for work in 4 hours. But maybe just one more.
Well that only works if you weren't there from the start...
If you're new to it, then binge away
If you noticed it when it started you'd have had to put up with weekly episode releases which feels really odd after getting used to binge-viewing.
I'm still enjoying Shooter though...."man-tele"
Is it still worth watching if you've seen the film?
Definitely. Although it is theoretically a follow-on it works completely independently. I didn't even realise it was related to the film
I don't think that's correct. I'm only on episode 4 but it's pretty much the film with a few different characters.

Still a good show though.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was surprisingly good. I am very familiar with the original P&P book and and least one of the scenes was particularly funny because of that. Good looking film with plenty of attractive females which is always a bonus.

Anyone picked up Travellers yet? Ten minutes in to E01 and it's pretty intense. Not read any reviews...
Binged my way through it Fri-Sat, thought it was bloody good tbh. Really kicks it up a notch in the last episode!

The Equalizer: A Denzel Washington movie. A bit slow to get going but once it does, there's plenty of action and gore. Not a complicated movie but it kept me interested.

Thoroughly enjoyed it smile

Green Room is on Netflix now too which got some interesting reviews. Stewart looks like a nutter in it so will break out the wine and chocolate tonight and see what it's like.

I'm not sure if it been posted here but I'm currently half way through Last chance U . It's a documentary about a college American football team. I have very little interest in American football but have found this documentary completely watchable. It's very much a real life Friday night lights. It's worth watching it for the coaches apaplectic rage when things aren't going well.

Dexter and Warehouse 13 are fantastic. I think Warehouse 13 is a hidden gem which is great fun.

I'm one in on "The Expanse" as of last night.

So far it is a mix of the old Total Recall [a] meets Outland [b] meets Battlestar Galactica [c]. Nice effects, looks great, but quite cliche heavy. I'll be having a look at E2 later on though as good sci-fi is few and far between of late.

[a] The original Arni one
[b] Sean Connery mining sci-fi film I only vaguely remember
[c] The dark and moddy re-make from 2004

May have already been mentioned, schitts creek? Written by and starring Eugene levy and his son, also has his daughter and a couple of other Levy's involved.
His family go from being mega rich to losing everything and move to a hick town he bought, living in a motel.

Just found Real Crime: Supermarket Heist about the Tesco letter bombings in Bournemouth in 2000.

Never knew this happened. Worked for Tesco for the last nine years. Helping waste a hour or so.

Just started watching:

Medici

About a family of bankers in Florence..

Pretty good so far and fairly simple - also stars Dustin Hoffmann albeit with a dodgy accent...

With respect, that's a bit like saying "just started watching The Krays. It's about these 2 gangsters in East London."

Quite charming actually. The wife is hysterical - she has that mad borderline-alcoholic vibe going on. The bit where she has to film the commercial is very amusing indeed.
