I started watching 'The OA' on Friday, not really knowing what to expect other than it had a decent enough rating on IMDB (8/10).

Watched the entire season over the last few days and really enjoyed it. It is a very hard show to describe without giving too much away so, I shan't even try! Suffice to say that the acting performances were excellent from an unknown cast (unknown to me at least) The ending was completely unexpected, really did not see it coming at all.

I would agree with the IMDB rating and give it a very solid 8/10
I started this and I wasn't too sure, just this minute finished episode 4 which was pretty dark and captivating!

Really good film. Similar vein to Siccaro

Recommended! Brutal.

yes

Same director as Gomorrah (series), all the qualities of the series rolled into a film

Weve just started Bloodline.

On the 2nd episode, good so far, good cast.

Found myself watching Plane Resurrection last night. Essentially each episode shows a rich bloke buying a wrecked old plane, a bit of a story about why the plane was good in its day, then an annoyingly superficial look at the restoration process, ending with the plane taking off and flying again.

Well I assume that's how the rest of the series goes as I'm only a couple of episodes in, but it's brain out wallpaper TV and mildly diverting.
I had high hopes for this, but felt the same after watching the P51 and Fokker Triplane ones (especially the Fokker one). Post-pub watching for me from now on I suspect.

Thinking of watching Shooter next, the film is one that i'm able to watch over and over so I've got high hopes for it.
Just finished watching the first series of Shooter, I really enjoyed it.
Did three episodes last night and I think I'm hooked already, its just different enough from the film to keep you watching

Is it very different from the film? Because to me the film a piece of rubbish.....

The story is the same
Ex-forces super sniper is framed for an assassination
He goes on the run and tries to prove his innocence and catch the killer... it is better than the film IMO

Based on the same book so you will recognise bits but not exactly the same. Also has a lot more time to develop. Plus I think Ryan Phillippe is (surprisingly) a better actor than Marky Mark.

Just finished season 3 of Braquo.

Thought it might go the way of Lost and Prison Break and lose its way but still thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm surprised the entire french population doesnt have lung cancer.

For something completely different, I've found Happy Tree Friends on there. A cartoon series about cute animals that keep dying in gory and elaborate ways, think Itchy & Scratchy hehe . (I have DVDs of it, there's 1 series on Netflix)

Watched the first five episodes of Designated Survivor last night. Very good, House of Cards meets 24 with a little bit of NCIS thrown in too. Definitely keeps your attention, though I'm not a fan of some of the more sentimental stuff thrown in, usually at the end of the episode and it holds your hand through the plot a bit more than HoC. On the whole though, a great series to watch so far.
Ha!

I watched the first 3 of that last night when I discovered there was bugger all on. 24 meets House of Cards seems like a good description, it's fairly light going so you don't need to think to hard either, nice late evening brain out TV. The potential ending/resolution feels a little too telegraphed but we'll see.

Also interesting watching it having read the Jack Ryan Debt of Honour/Executive Orders books which is basically the same story with a more right wing survivor.
More and more disappointed with this at the season finished. It became more farcical and predictable as it went on, and ended more as NCIS than HoC.

Just started this. It is indeed brilliant.

It reminds me of another French police/anti terrorist series set in Marseille I watched recently but can't remember its name. It's bugging me now. It has an French North African police officer in it whose brother is a criminal. hehe

I started watching this based on reviews but didn't even finish the first episode, it was so farcical. Perhaps I was a bit quick to give up?
