Hunt for the wilderpeople - lovely film with some great lines, the Caucasian line
I watched this over the weekend and really enjoyed it, some brilliant lines and beautifully filmed.Recommended.
Its tremendous.
We also finished OA and felt robbed of a coherent ending. Reviews on here were mixed so we gave it a go, as many said it started well then fizzled out.
Tried ep. 1 of the Santa Clarita Diet and doubt we'll be watching any more, seems very self-consciously 'kooky' and the acting is OTT, especially the father. They're trying too hard to be funny and as a result it's a bit painful.
We were thinking of trying Gotham, we enjoyed Jessica Jones but aren't Marvel fans really - worth it or a bit too fanboy?

Thanks from me too - looked at the description last week and gave it a miss, then on the recommendation of this thread we watched it on Saturday evening. Both of us loved it - really good film with the Kiwi sense of humour.

I am not that into comic book stuff, Marvel/DC, I am one of the very few who thinks it's reached beyond saturation point - but so many still keep lapping the crap up, encouraging Hollywood to make even more samey crap!We also finished OA and felt robbed of a coherent ending. However, there are a few I do like, that stand on their own merits, and I do really like Gotham, despite it being a DC universe series. I thought Jessica Jones was OK, but perhaps trying a little too hard to be 'angsty' at times. Gotham, though, is one of my guilty pleasures...

Finished Santa Clarita Diet this morning, I thought it was okay - when it's good its great but it had a few bum notes IMHO. It definitely got better as the cast got comfy both in their individual roles and the general bizzareness of the show's world. I'd put good money that if it gets a series 2 it'll be brilliant
Finished it too. Really enjoyed it, well worth a watch.Johnny said:
Frontier.
Anyone watched? Jason Mamoa doing what he does best. With axes.
Not seen any yet, just saw from his IG. Will have a watch later maybe.
Yes, watched the whole season, reasonably entertaining, but not historically that accurate (language used etc). Momoa is quite good, but some of the other cast are just terrible, Captain Chesterfield for one. His accent is dire and his whole character just doesn't fit that of a Captain. He seems to be trying to emulate a football hooligan at times.Anyone watched? Jason Mamoa doing what he does best. With axes.

Some of the other accents are pretty well up there with Dick Van Dyke too.

Final episode of Frequency was out on Thursday - I really enjoyed this series, bit of a 'Butterfly Effect' premise to it and well worth watching
Enjoying this, loved the film. Thing is the detectives in 1996 are driving Fords that didn't come out until 1998. I know cos I owned one lolTrailer Park Boys Season 11 is out next month. Can't wait! If you follow the TPB Rickyisms on FB you may have seen me this week... If you've never seen TPB it's definitely worth a watch.
'Nova Scotia's trailer parks are colorful thanks to residents Ricky, Bubbles and Julian. Together, they plan mad capers, usually get-rich-quick schemes, with plenty of screw-ups along the way. They're constantly being hunted by their former trailer park supervisor, Jim Lahey, and his perpetually shirtless, pot-belled assistant, Randy. There are a host of other quirky characters that make up this zany locale of below-income characters in this Canadian mockumentary series.'

And Drew Barrymore in her leather gear!
Who cares if the beanie hat DID make her look like the Edge
Only a couple of episodes in so far, it is rather excellent. And Drew Barrymore in her leather gear!

I've always failed to see why anyone would make a fuss over Drew, always thought she looked wierd and not in a good way.
I'm half way through 'The Seven Five' or 'Precinct Seven Five' as it's also called. Brooklyn Nine Nine it ain’t'.
It's a documentary exposing police corruption during the Crack Years in NYC, you know when people say truth is stranger than fiction? If someone wrote a screen play for what they got up to, it would be dismissed as to unrealistic.
I usually wait until I’ve finished something before I mention it, put it on too late last night and can’t wait to finish it tonight.
