I love Netflix especially now I have an unblocker meaning I can access the US version on a Mac (not sure you can hack the Tevo version on Virgin Media at the mo). I am currently 3/4 though watching the entire Star Trek Next Gen then its Voyager and Enterprise.

I have finally managed to get the US version on my ipad 4g but it involves using a VPN which is not free. I am using the Hide my Ass app and so far its been faultless.
If you use Unblock-Us then you can change the DNS on your router and it will work on all devices attached to your network.

Just finished the second season of American horror story.

fk me that is one messed up show, but very, very well done.

Loved it.
Is the 2nd series as good as the 1st?
Didn't think much to the ending but on the whole enjoyed it.
Much better IMO, I didn't quite 'get' the first season what with ghosts and humans etc. 2nd is easier to grasp and really good.

How do you load different locations? VPN via laptop?

"Spiral" - the very, very gritty French police/crime drama.

Watched series 3 or 4 on BBC and then spotted the earlier ones of this. Better than the post series 1 of 'The Killing' to my taste (felt let down by the follow ups to that first series) and nearly up their (nearly!) with 'The Wire'.

Is American Horror Story on UK Netflix? I looked and I'm sure it's not on there.

I got Netflix to watch Dexter and Mythbusters. With about 240 episodes of Mythbusters at 50 minutes a pop, there is some watching in that. The real star for me has turned out to be Breaking Bad, I'd heard it was good so I put it on my list. I'm watching it now and thinking it's one of, if not the best tv program I've ever seen.

The films on Netflix are generally poor, there are some good ones but there are a lot of st b movies I'll never bother with.

have a netflix subscription via apple TV.

We also watch on iPhones/iPads - few questions re the region change.

does netflix automatically change region for your ip or do you manually have to change it?
if you manually have to do it, where is the settings? do i need to log into netflix on the MAC or is it done through apple TV itself?

with regard to what gems,

Number station
24 (obviously)
dexter
breaking bad (AMAZING - tip from a PHer too!)
also prison break although that got a bit silly by the 4th season
Mock the Week
Top Gear

it did have scrubs for a while but they vanished frown

Hahaha. Definitely. Archer is great. When I signed up for the free month trial, I found Warehouse 13 which I love.

It depends what service you use. I use overplay.net and pay approx £3.50 a month (it's in USD) for the privilege. You change the DNS settings on your device, then there's a web page you just log into and choose the country. Netflix changes depending on the region it thinks it's in automagically.

ETA: On topic, I watched The Guard yesterday night. Hilarious dark Irish comedy, and highly recommended.

I watched a YouTube vid regarding changing the region on my Apple TV 2 and it worked like a treat. All I had to do was sign out of my Apple ID/Netflix account.

No problem with unblocking at home as I use my Mac but out and about with the ipad on 4g only then unblocking NF is much harder.
The only way I have found is to use a VPN like Hide my Ass. It works really well but there is a small cost.

Wife has got it, and is most of the way through the magnificently cheesy Waking The Dead. She got the subscription for her iPad, but as soon as I found out we could get it on the tv via ps3, I had a Thick Of It fest. Now watching it through an Apple TV box, which works really nicely.

House of Cards (2013) starring Kevin Spacey is utterly brilliant.
