Yeah, we watched the first episode in season 3 last night.

I have read that the reason for the thumbs up/down is due to Amy Schumer complaining that her programme had poor ratings, blaming 'trolls'. Not sure how true this is, though.
And nothing to do with her stealing material from everyone and being generally rubbish smile

There does often seem to be a discrepancy between Netflix ratings and IMDB / Rotten Tomatoes etc but generally you knew where you were with 1 star and 5 star stuff, 3 was always a grey area but I never saw Jason Statham complaining.

I guess I'll get used to it.

Brilliant brutal Korean thriller/drama, fans of Oldboy will like this
Had a Leon feel to the start of it...then went in a more traditional revenge style... enjoyed it a lot. thumbup
and another thumbup. Some fairly brutal scenes and (as long as you can take sub-titles) well worth it

If I remember correctly, the Netflix star rating you see is nothing to do with reviews and 'how good' something is deemed to be, its based on some sort of comparison with your watched programmes and the categories they fall into. The star rating I see for a programme could be different to what you see. Or something. Possibly. Bit vague really.

Algorithms.

It looks at your viewing preferences and shows you ratings based on what other people who liked the same as you thought of a programme. In fact Netflix tries to show you things that other people with the same preferences liked - my wife's profile suggests far different shows to mine based on the fact she watches a lot of costume drama and I watch car stuff and foreign dramas.

About to be scrapped for a 'thumbs up, thumbs down' idiot-friendly interface as I understand it.

We watched the first 5/6 episodes but it wasn't good enough to keep us watching to be fair,

We watched this last night off the back of your recommendation. Very good.

I liked Sydney a bit more than I think I was supposed to...

Just about to watch Part 2 of The Get Down which went live today - been looking forward to this, the first 'part' was excellent - a fictional story set in the Bronx in the late 70s around the birth of hip hop, but interspersed with real events, people and footage - very well done and a cracking soundtrack

s3 ep1 up now, still as good, shame you now have to wait for it each week rather than binge, and no doubt here will be the inevitable mid season break

I know, I am just glad it's back on. I thought it would be crap but, like Lucifer, I really got into it - the characters are very likeable.
