The problem I had was that the concept of a black hole being the gateway to 'hell' was silly not scary.
When you're 15, you don't tend to delve that deep into plots.
Yeah but I was a space nerd from about 5, had a Saturn 5 Arfix model that was about as tall as I was.

I can't believe I'm actually being drawn into this but I think that it's a pretty credible theory that if there were multiple dimensions that punching a hole through space may lead you heading into one. Hell and heaven must be dimensions if they do exist, so...

Someone help me out here. I've gone back to Breaking Bad because people keep telling me that it takes off and is amazing from the middle of S2. I've seen up to S2E08 (watched 8 out of a 13 episode season) and I'm still waiting - it's pretty tedious so far. When does it get good?

almost an entire episode about a flat battery? Really?
I'd say the end of series 13 (I think there's 13 episodes) and from there on in. You should probably plan block viewings from 4 onwards smile

If you think the flat battery episode was boring, wait until you see the one where they spend the entire episode trying to catch a fly hehe

I gave up 3 episodes from the end of the entire show, I found it extremely boring.

Here's a screenshot from my Netflix, you're right, I was lying - I was 4 and a half episodes away. I persevered with it for as long as I could due to the hype surrounding it. I just found it boring, I couldn't waste another 4 hours of my life on it.

Why in god's name would you persevere for 4.5 series which is probably 60 hours of tv if it bored you that much?
That's like some kind of mental illness

There was one series that was really good, I can't remember which, but I just kept hearing that the last season really was "must watch" so I kept trying but got the arse with it during the last episode I watched, so I stopped. I then started watching Prison Break and just forgot about Breaking Bad. At some stage I may go back to it, but I'm not too fussed if I never find out how it ends.

Edit - I should add that it was the final 2 seasons I found boring, there was some intrigue at the beginning and one of the first 3 seasons was really good but I can't remember which one!

I watched it all in two weeks recently. Only reason I signed up to Netflix was to watch it. It started off a little slow but I managed to get into it quite quickly. One of the best shows I have seen, need to make a start on The Wire (sadly not on Netflix) soon and see how that compares to both Breaking Bad and The Sopranos.

The Wire is really good, 100% worth watching!

Our Netflix really is st though, even Swedish Netflix is better - 100's more movies and it has TV shows like Friends, How I Met Your Mother etc.

I watched a film on it called Would You Rather this weekend, it was really good, I am going to try and figure out how to get access to non-UK Netflix when I am off over Christmas.

Edit - Would You Rather is actually on UK Netflix, it's a good film.

I'd give up on Breaking Bad if you don't like it after episode 1, that sets the theme and style for the rest of the story. If you're not captivated at that point then save yourself some time!

I've started watching Underbelly, halfway between Neighbours and the Sopranos. Netflix suggested it following Lillehammer. It's pretty terrible but makes for good low-brain-power watching when the child has me up at 4am, a slot that Trailer Park Boys filled admirably.

I disagree. For 2 series I thought it was nothing more than quite good. Decent characters and dialogue but a bit slow. It went on to be the one of the best things I had ever watched and I contemplated giving it up.

Odd that. I absolutely loved the first series of Underbelly.

Aye but MrsMiggens wasn't liking it at all and based on the spoiler comment wasn't enjoying some of the parts like the fly mentioned above which IMO was one of the greatest bits of TV I've watched. In that case I'm not sure I'd recommend sticking with it. For me what made it special was the entire journey that WW went on from soppy teacher to where he ended up which starts in episode 1 and grows throughout.

I am a bit odd. Only a couple of episodes in, I'll stick with it.

Just use unblock-us.com

Makes it all so easy (every Netflix region selectable via a drop-down box), and is only 2 or 3 quid a month.
Think they still have the 7 day free trial going too.

I know there are other ways, but this is so convenient.

I did the same with Prison Break - Loved the first 2 series, then got fed up with it by season 4 (the constant totally ridiculous twists/turns/conspiracies did my head in). Watched right up until the last episode and just didn't bother watching the finale, and it was on my Sky planner for ages. Normally I'd make myself watch it just because I'd invested so much time, but I really didn't care how it ended.

Have done the same with True Blood, watched 6 seasons, and just haven't bothered with the 7th, although that's still on the planner, so maybe one day I'll watch it

OK, thanks for this, I am going to give it a go tonight.

Edit - sorry to ask such a technologically retarded question but it isn't clear from their website... Do I have to pay a sub for each device? I have an LG Smart TV in my living room and a Roku Box and Apple TV in my bedroom and I'd like it available in both rooms.

There's another thread on this very topic (i.e., watching different regions):
