Fruitvale Station

IMDB link - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2334649/

Stole the beginning of an IMDB review (slightly edited) -

"An independent film written and directed with stunning effectiveness by newcomer Ryan Coogler, Fruitvale Station is based on a true story of an unarmed black male who is shot on New Year's Day. The film is a character study of the choices in life and how a cruel twist of fate intervenes. It lingers in the heart and mind long after the end, and as such is one of the best films of the year."

A top movie.

Never ever thought I would watch it but we have become hooked on House. I think all the seasons are in there.
Very formulaic, easy watching and Hugh Laurie has the best character ever to appear on one of these things.
I enthusiastically recommend it for puerile viewing.

Started watching American Horror Story last night, weird, but strangely watchable.

The housekeeper, my word! lick
I couldn't get on with it at all, was all too difficult to grasp. She can see an old housekeeper but he can see a young one? Is she a ghost? One of her is a ghost and the other isn't? The crazy woman with the Down's Syndrome daughter is evil?

I wanted to love House, but its the same episode everytime.

"Ooh they've got this, treat them"

"Didn't work, they've got a new symptom though"

"Didn't work, they've got a new symptom though"

"Ooh they've got this, treat them"

"Didn't work, they've got a new symptom though, and they're nearly dead"

~Someone says something in a completely unrelated conversation which triggers an 'aha!' moment~

"Ooh they've got this, treat them"

"They're cured!"

Interspered with House hating mostly everyone and making acerbic and disparaging remarks.

Agree Shakotan and I didn't think I would make it past 4 or 5 episodes.
I did, though, and for reasons I cant explain I am enjoying it more than ever.

I just cannot get enough of That 70's Show. Seen it before many moons ago and I just can't stop laughing. Kurtwood Smith and Topher Grace as well as all the others are just superb.

Of course, as a complete hypocrite I'm on S3 as its my go-to 'stick it on in the background when there's nothing else on' affair.

We finished watching it recently, watched all of it and really enjoyed it. The formula is indeed as you lay out, but it's the side stuff that's where the enjoyment is, we barely noticed the medical stuff.

I watched the pilot this morning having never seen an episode, your summary above captures it wonderfully, perhaps the rest of the series isn't for me if it's more of the same smile

Have just discovered Peakey Blinders - great show (Sam Neil's questionable ulster accent aside). Cillian Murphy doesn't quite get the hang of the Birmingham one either, but it is passable.

Good plot, well shot, good soundtrack.

I was hoping to find some Top Gear USA on there...... but can't
This is a 2 part going from Venice to Po (sp) in a variety of vehicles , a bit less hysterical than normal and better for it

I've almost finished watching the Netflix exclusive 'Bloodline' (one more episode to go so, no spoilers please!) and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a bit of a slow burner but all the cast are superb.

It is very character based and revolves around a dysfunctional family living in the Florida Keys whose lives are turned upside down when their older Brother Danny (played to perfection by Ben Mendelsohn) returns to the area.

Well worth a watch.
