What would happen if a pawn broker took something away to get valued (like 300k worth of diamonds) and they they went bankrupt/into administration? Would the official receiver hand back these items?
I'd be very nervous leaving anything with them.
If no money has been exchanged in return for them then they shouldn't be considered as an asset of the pawn broker and thus should be returned to the owner. I'm no qualified person to speak on the matter but thinking about it those items are owned by the owner until there's a form of payment/contract agreed.I'd be very nervous leaving anything with them.
A posting on the "Pawn Stars UK" thread reminded me of this weeks's Posh Pawn. The dreamers with the "jade" pendant supposedly given to their mum by a grateful Arab prince in lieu of rent. Maybe worth £300k. Ha! Suckers.
That James does my head in. He seems to run a successful business, but I have no idea how he does it. He comes across as a bit of an airhead - his telephone conversations are so stilted and lacking any dynamicism. He waffles all around the point before he gets to it - he must spend hours each week wasting time instead of telling people what he means to say.

I still quite enjoy the programme but it is ridiculously padded out with repetition.
I find the only way to watch it is to video then fast forward through all the recycled bits, a quick look at who the pawners are and what they've got, then on to what its worth. Whole programme watched in about 20 minutes.

She seemed to be really overdoing the "oh well, doesn't matter" when they told her it wasn't jade, though.nicanary said:

That might be just the cameras though - he might just feel really self-conscious because he's being watched and/or being told what to say to make it more exciting.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
