That James does my head in. He seems to run a successful business, but I have no idea how he does it.
Nope, me either. Or how to raise the capital to start the business in the first place.Apparently he was previously a property developer, and his right-hand-woman explained that although he comes across as aloof, he's (apparently) actually quite astute.

So the Hermes bag had a dodgy lock and keys, looked cheap etc. Why did he not just state the obvious and say it was a fake, especially after the verbals she gave him on the phone when he wouldn't take it?
Saying it is a fake is making an accusation, that could have repercussions if you were wrong, which you don't get by just saying you didn't want to buy it.PF62 said:

That way we could have watched her go off like a bottle of pop.

Oh I don't know; two men should be able to take 2.5 miles of track up in a couple of days.
Would love to have the space, not to mention the money, to potter around one's grounds with it.
Indeed, but you have all the buildings (which were brick built?).... Then the trains etc.. Be a logistical nightmare to move it privately especially without damaging it... Would love to have the space, not to mention the money, to potter around one's grounds with it.
But yes, just how much land do you need for a 2 mile track?!!?
