Started a bit middling, but the last couple of episodes have been really good. Getting into this nicely.

confused Didn't see anything I wasn't expecting/seen coming.

Still enjoying it, but it is a little predictable frown

If you look at they 'recent' films, the casting in Gotham is really quite clever

The young Penguin could be DdV, likewise with the young Riddler, Mr Freeze, Cat Woman, Poison Ivy etc

All the 'young' characters in Gotham resemble the 'older' characters in the films

I must say this is becoming my favourite show of the week. Gotham looks suitably corrupt and grimey, the characters are starting to develop and the dialogue is good in parts.

I think they are purposefully mixing technologies and eras to give Gotham a fantasy feeling. It's basically a fantasy police procedural, which separates it from most other shows on the box (unless you include Midsomer Murders!).

I actually like the slightly tougher Alfred, it's believable that he was more bodyguard than butler, and it's nice to see David Zayas from Dexter as a Mob Boss.

I like that they are focusing on the Penguin, he's normally under-written and it's good to see him as a dangerous manipulative villain. I can't see the point of introducing Catwoman yet, although I'm liking E Nygma. It will be interesting to see how E Nygma goes from CSI guy to out & out loony - I hope they manage to make it a believable slow change rather than a woke-up-mad-one-morning way.

In many respects, it's a shame it's even got Bruce Wayne in it, as his character is currently the least interesting!

I was sat there this week asking, "didn't they already do this story in The Mentalist?"

In the last (C5) episode Nygma was already starting to show signs of getting annoyed and irritable, so i think he'll develop nicely before the end of the season.

I'm starting to like Alfred now, they've toned down the 'mate' stuff and he's a decent mix of hard man bodyguard and carer now.

Also, I nticed the first week that the girl playing Selena Kyle is absolutely gorgeous, like properly beautiful and assumed it was the Hollywood norm of a 22yr old playing a kid.

Nope, she's 15! Oops.

Bruno Heller, same screen writer on both

US has the 3rd episode (episode 13) since the Xmas break tonight and then weekly till e17 on the 23rd Feb. Cannot find when the final 5 are broadcast in the US.

So no answer to the question I'm afraid. Presume they will wait till they can have a clear run without having to take another break. Always the problem when they show so close to the US broadcast date.

It's also been renewed for a 2nd series.
