TL:DR

Did we ever get an answer as to where he got his jackets?

So have you spotted him out and about then and take that photo ?

Me and the missus briefly met him when he was filming at the stop of the Shard, which will be a few years ago now.

Since most of his new series always start at the beginning of the year, I've been searching to see if there's any new series coming up, and this is what I have found:

Series 1 & 2 of Coastal Journeys was filmed back to back, but so far, only series 1 was been shown ( Jan 2022 ), and series 2's date has not yet been released. However, series 2 is available on DVD from June this year, which most likely means that is when series 2 will be broadcast.

I also found a local newspaper website that said filming was being done of the coastal one last September (2022), but they said it was for series 2 (which would be wrong). But it could therefore mean that series 3 has now been filmed ?

It's only thanks to me that he's on the trains.

He was our constituency MP. We voted him out in Blair's victory, choosing Stepen Twigg instead.

Portillo was in the BBC election night studio pontificating as usual when he heard he was in trouble. He beat a hasty retreat back to Chipping Barnet to hear the bad news.

I made that man the man he is today.

You're welcome. bowtie

I love his series both the UK and continental ones. I think the way he walks is hilarious. Looks like he has something nasty stuck between his bum cheeks!!

Stephen Twigg; is there no beginning to his talents? Forever to be a pub quiz answer.

Anyone know if the red “checked” jacket he wears is made from the material used on train seats?

I'd missed that. I shall set my box and watch tonight's later.

The missus will be pleased, she likes a bit of Michael !

Me too. I did email about a year ago and ask why they never go to the Isle of Sheppey. Since it's coastal railways, they must surely go there this time?

Another bump for those that enjoy the show - new series started on Monday (18/03) in the usual 6.30PM BBC2 slot and available via iPlayer.

Appears to be 15 episodes in total in this run so the next 3 weeks.
