Sorry - I'm a TV cynic because I make it for a living - but none of those exterior shots of the car in these sequences are with Idris driving it
The transition between slides was way too smooth...
Its the Top Gear technique. Pros drive the cars for exterior trackshots (for H&S reasons as much as anything). The presenter is filmed with in-car cameras. The combined montage can then, some would say fraudulently, be said to show "the presenter driving the car".

Have to say this made a nice change from the usual top gear xmas special.

nicely presented, think Elba was a good choice, seemed to blag it a little, but still watchable and a bit of fun too.

Actually preferred this rather than the usual top gear crap.

Wicked.

I`ve never heard of the bloke before and still don`t know who he is or what he may have done.

As soon as he said "wicked" that was it for me, I put up with it for 10 mins but found it pesh poor, not as bad a numb nuts with the camels ont` other side but bad enough to turn it off.

Wicked smile

Enjoyed it, Idris Elba comes across as a genuine guy, he loves his cars, may not be too knowledgeable, but tat doesn't stop him from being a petrolhead.

Shame they never had Tommi Makinen.
