My sister is friendly with him and I've met him through her while he was DJ'ing in London

He's a nice guy. Very down to earth. So laid back he's horizontal. Smooth fella.
So spill what's in his garage? Is he a classic car man Mk2 Jag or a Dino, 265 GTB 4Cam or modern sort of thing?

Or maybe just into actual racing cars and like Damon Hill drives a very low power spec Espace!
Can't help you I'm afraid. I was only in his company for about half an hour or so in total, as he was DJ'ing all night.

We spoke about music and The Wire ( because it is my favourite ever show ) and he was a top bloke all in all.

He got dropped off in a Mercedes though if that helps wink

Looking forward to this, would probably watch anything with him in.

FWIW I watched a bit of Gumball 3000 (2010) last night and he was in that, was driving an Aston for that.

My mum had an XR2 in black like that, that I used to nick all the time when I was 15!

The cup-holders on the XR2 steering wheel look a tad dodgy.

Was looking forward to this....
Elba comes over badly, and the choice of a yellow street drag car on 20"....

Shame. Only decent part of the prog so far was the fiesta, and to be fair his tyre fitter "mate" looked embarassed as Elba inserted the lever wrong...

Elba comes across as a bloke that likes style and lacks in depth awareness of the subject...

Speed isn't about wkers low riding on 20" rims

I'm enjoying it. It's better than 95% of the ste they put on tv these days.

I don't think Idris comes across badly per se but he doesnt come across as being particularly knowledgeable. You're right though he's definitely style/stature guy who enjoys speed rather than an out and out 'pistonhead'.

This definetly hasn't been produced by petrol heads..

Talking to the guy at the dragstrips, he's the fastest etc, and here he goes down the 1/4 mile...and they don't show you the board to show his speed or time!

And then they go on about the Corvair being a death trap, but no explanation as to why..

Finding it more frustrating than enjoyable, so far.. Let's see if it improves.

They said specifically that they don't have the boards on or give out the time/speed so as not to let the 'competition' know how fast each others cars are.
