Ugh, this year's crop are even worse than the last. PM tonight was a sneery waste of space.
What really annoyed me tonight though were two things:
1) the conflation of 'technology' - Solomon clearly has no idea about technology, he works in an industry that uses technology created for it. It's like saying, "Well you drive a car so therefore you must know how to strip an engine down and rebuild it." His experience is in social media not wearable tech. If you were to make the wearable tech integrate with social media then he'd be someone to talk to.
2) all that said, the cretins appear to be 'waiting for their task' to come along. You might NOT have direct experience of the tech or the industry, you might not have any branding or design experience.....well guess what - MOST of the tasks you're going to be doing will be for stuff you have no direct experience of! That's the whole point! You have to show a little flicker of adaptability or intelligence.
THAT said, it is a most ridiculous process - you're putting people who've never sold into 'sales' tasks (and dismissing them on their poor performance), you're putting lawyers into design tasks, designers into food prep tasks - to what end? What does it really tell you about the people involved? About their skills and abilities and, above all, the validity or potential of the idea they want to put into business?
The Apprentice is a relic and a mish-mash of tasks which were rendered pointless the moment the show became about setting up a business partnership rather than being an employee. It's like the worst elements of a job interview which doesn't actually yield any tangible, useful information about the 'candidates'.
So why am I watching? It's car-crash TV. I get to look at a bunch of vapid morons making dicks of themselves, shake my head that people like that actually exist and think they're the Next Big Thing in business and feel a little bit better that I'm not them. It's your basic run-of-the-mill voyeurism.

The apprentice is (imo) good TV because both Lord Sugar and Nick Hewer are hilarious and should be on stage, plus LS has been there and done it....Read his books.....and most people enjoy watching the "contestants" make tits of themselves.

Could they not have been under a layer of very thin material, perhaps the stuff that tights are made from?Given the size of the panels I'm sure there's enough 'efficiency capacity' that they could afford a bit of a light transmission loss

If the jacket with solar panels had been for cyclists in day-glow yellow with a few flashing LEDs and the phone charger pocket that may have been a good idea - charge up on the ride to the office and flash on the way home. Or does that already exist?

Better choreographed than 'Strictly' too - although they haven't treated us to the perfectly timed 'enter three Voyagers together' movement yet.
Loud camp Canadian was strangely anonymous last night - surprising after Day 1, so much is the editing the crucial part of this storybook stuff.
Whoever it was said upthread that last night's girl PM reminded them of Alien...bit harsh. On the Alien.
Better choreographed than 'Strictly' too - although they haven't treated us to the perfectly timed 'enter three Voyagers together' movement yet.

s like him that make me hate hipster East London. Episode 2 was a shambles, and the programme producer is almost entirely to blame IMO. You cannot give a bunch of people with basically no product design experience, less than 24 hours to come up with a decent product. They've been doing it for years on The Apprentice and it never works. Every year the products they come up with are not new products, they are just a convergence of 2/3 other products into a single item. They never solve a problem for any user group, they just pull something out of thin air!
Also interested as to why both teams interpreted wearable technology as a skirt or jumper (could've been a shirt, trousers or whatever), rather than simply anything that you attach to your body. No imagination used in the slightest, but then as I said, they are given so little time on these tasks.

That reminds me, has anyone else noticed there's been a few segments where they've used old footage of pre-facelift 11-plate Voyagers from earlier series, but obviously this year they are using facelift 14-plates. Maybe it's just me... Better choreographed than 'Strictly' too - although they haven't treated us to the perfectly timed 'enter three Voyagers together' movement yet.

The example they were shown was a skirt with flashing lights on it so with no other reference point, a very short timescale and no real clue about what they had to produce, you can see why they went for the 'stitch something into clothes' option.That order for 250 was a load of b
