One can only hope that there is not a 'make and fly a kite' competition between the teams as I fear they would all end up with lead poisoning.

Bugger. I was just writing some more stuff (potentially) for the next. Do you have a link to that?
Do you compose a lot of the score for The Apprentice as well, GC?

The example they were shown was a skirt with flashing lights on it so with no other reference point, a very short timescale and no real clue about what they had to produce, you can see why they went for the 'stitch something into clothes' option.

That order for 250 was a load of bks and handily avoided a draw situation where no team got any orders (which I think has never happened before).
I refuse to believe Firebox ordered the st jacket but said the jumper with camera 'wasn't for them'. They sell drones, with cameras! So much for privacy!

On the subject of contestants reminding you of someone:

Solomon reminds me of Daniel Ricciardo, and Scott reminds me of Paul di Resta.

The fact that it took a group of "successful" businesspeople to ponder whether a solar panel could work under a layer of fabric or not sums the economy up for me.

Just wish we had a few Tom Pellerau or Jim Eastwoods as opposed to this lot.

Not a lot, no. They have their own composer who does all the boardroom stuff and much of the 'every week' music. I provide some of the orchestral stuff you hear when they are doing the projects. This sorta' stuff (from last year) http://stevecarter.com/random/apprentice.mp3 This year they bought a few I wrote for Warner Bros. including this: http://stevecarter.com/random/app1.mp3

I like that!

Reminds me of Karl Jenkins's Palladio.

It's a shame that a lot of incidental music, written as background for movies and TV programmes, never gets the recognition it deserves as 'proper' music in its own right - in other words as music that you'd go to a concert to listen to and admire. You only hear it the once, and only on the periphery of consciousness, given that you're concentrating on the visual action, and you never become aware of its composer (unless you check out the rolling credits at the end) or even its title.frown

Ta. You won't even see my name in the credits. Happy to get paid in car tokens! I gave up the composer rat race (if there is such a thing) to move up here 8 years ago. Now work for 5 companies (three yank, two brit) writing 'generic' music for such progs, and hardly ever have an idea where my music will turn up. Not a problem, as long as they keep sending the dosh. smile

Here

Third para from the end, although re-reading it I wonder if they're referring to Waterloo Road?

Ta for that... yes it's unclear to which prog they are axing... I think It was Warterloo Rd which was axed after 10 seasons. Hopefully!

That Scottish bloke was a nasty piece of work. Looked like he was about to glass someone in every scene. Really glad he's gone - the apprentice is meant to be light viewing and I felt on edge every time he was on screen biggrin

Yup, bit of free PR with them (the we look for the latest tech bks was written in advance and would have been used regardless of what they were presented with.

The jumper wasn't too bad an idea I thought and wasn't too far off working looks wise too. It was only the christmas tree lights which ruined it. It was also far more feasible then the jacket which had the fundamental flaws of solar power at night as already pointed out and I struggle to see a couple of solar panels running a heating pad for more then a few minutes either.

Not alleged, he has admitted to it and was convicted. He is a nasty little piece of st and should not have been allowed on the program.
