Last night's episode just shows how bogus the application process is. Lord Sugar always bangs on about how he chooses candidates who are the epitome of modern day business, yet Ella Jade has never had a job/worked? She's just graduated? And LS proceeded to slate her for that. I think most of them have 'normal' jobs, but they give themselves fancy titles to make themselves feel as though they've achieved something that they actually haven't, and then desperately clutch at straws to put stuff on their CV like an 18 year writing a Uni application. I like how Solomon thinks he's a management expert because he once organised a boat trip with his mates in Croatia.

Same with Chiles a few weeks back. I remember in the after show, Dara was asking him what he does now.

"Er, I, own a, erm, consultancy business."

"And what does that do?"

"Well, we, er, we, erm"

He hadn't a clue.

This show is just a middle-class Big Brother. The candidates enter expecting to come out with fame and fortune, but in reality they'll just gain a few thousand Twitter followers and will start doing club appearances in Bolton on a Tuesday night.
Did the duedil.co.uk research on Chiles when he was on, his "consultancy" is a not mindblowingly successful kitchen sales outfit.

The tasks have been fairly awful this year.

1st task a ten year special with far too little time to do everything to the extent the winning team simply won by selling hundreds of pounds worth of T shirts back to the printer for £50-£60.

Second task a little more promising, but whether due to the idiocy of the candidates or lack of time, both designs were poor.

Then last nights one where again a team seemed to win by "default" as neither videos were particularly great.

The only good task was number three which was a proper business task where the aim was to make a profit and both teams came up with at the least half decent products.

At least with the new format we have lost most of the idiots 4 weeks in.

Can't remember who, but one of them has (in his own words) "an entertainment company selling packages to corporates" - he owns a pub quiz company/website selling pub quizzes (at £5-10 a go) to pubs.

To be honest I was expecting Stephen to turn up in a blonde wig shouting "I am what I am".

He was getting on my nerves as he seemed to be stuck in PR mode.

Have to say I thought the prize was surprisingly good. I wonder how many days they spent in Reykjavik?

Annoying as Stephen was, he is the first person I have ever seen who can both mince and flounce whilst seated

Same reason as the rest of them, she just wanted to get her mush on the telly!

I see him in Canada, pretending to be rugged whilst singing about wearing high heels, suspenders and a bra.

Not necessarily that long, it is about 20 mins from the airport. You could easily fly there from LHR, have 4-6 hours on the ground, and be back to LHR on the next flight, of which Icelandair have a couple a day.

I presume places like the Blue Lagoon "donate" the prizes to the BBC in return for the publicity, in this case their costs would be limited to some cheap flights and the wages for the guy to open the lagoon up specially early (going on how it was deserted with nobody else in there, but if you go there in normal tourist hours it is absolutely thronging with people normally).

I can just hear it, "It's 4:10am and the cars will pick you up from outside the house in 20 minutes to drive you to Gatwick for your 6:30am flight to Reykjavík, Lord Sugar will not be accompanying you."

Great, they think - a lie-in would be a treat! rolleyes

Well, it made me laugh. I was expecting her to pop her head back round the door though, with one more please...

I have to say, in her credit. Very impressive rack. Still looked like a bloke though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is that the first time someone has tried beg/persuade Shug to change his mind after they have got up out of their seat?

I don't recall anyone quite so eager to stay or persuade a change of heart from the Lord.

Apart from the sex, age, blindness, voice, nationality and moustache you mean?
