Some of the names I am lost on or forgotten, but the story itself seems to be developing clearly. That is not to say the ending is predictable as there is still scope for a massive twist.
I'm slightly worried they won't be able to tie everything up satisfactorily in a single episode. Can't see how they'll do it without rushing or a deus ex machina.Funk said:
I must admit to being a little lost (I've just finished ep 6).
2 detectives investigate a strange ritualistic murder which points to other murders. In the course of their investigation they meet a lot of of strange, nasty people which are like side stories. However the murders aren't the main focus...If the common good’s gotta make up fairy tales, then it’s not good for anybody.
If the only thing keeping a person decent is a divine reward, then brother, that person is a piece of st.
Been that way since one monkey looked at the sun and told the other monkey, "He said for you to give me your fking share." People... so god damn frail they'd rather put a coin in the wishing well than buy dinner.
Transference of fear and self-loathing to an authoritative vessel is a catharsis. Certain linguistic anthropologists think that religion is a language virus that creates pathways in the brain that dull critical thinking…

Wait 'till you hear how Harrison delivers "If you were drowning, I'd throw you a fking dumbbell"
The acting, script, delivery, direction and so on, so on, is just so pitch perfect. I guess because it has one primary writer and the same director throughout that it's just so damn cohesive. Best series I've seen in a long, long time.

Cracking episode.
No "WTF" twists as I was expecting, but immensely entertaining even though the path was laid out nicely for us. Having said that, it didn't end the way I expected it to.
Could have done with subtitles for some of the dialogue. The way McConaughey mumbles can be a little hard to understand sometimes.

Not seen 8 yet, will watch it sometime tonight but know how you feel - I really don't want it to end. Will probably watch it through from the beginning again to see what I missed first time around (loads probably )RumpleFugly said:

Almost all HBO shows I can think of offer up shiny extras on repeated viewings.Oh well that's that then Not quite the same feeling I had at the end of The Wire, but very enjoyable none the less. I'm hoping they release a music soundtrack album for this.
Rusty's back story and character reminded me a lot of Charlie Parker in the John Connelly novels, the early ones would make a good HBO mini series.

I could have sworn there wasn't meant to be any spoilers! No "WTF" twists as I was expecting, but immensely entertaining even though the path was laid out nicely for us. Having said that, it didn't end the way I expected it to.

May your internet break down and never be restored
Cracking series, slightly disappointing ending IMO - much more conventional than the preceding 7 episodes.
Apparently..."The series will use an anthology format, with each season featuring a different cast of characters and story."
Should be interesting to see what they do with the next season.

My perception of the unfolding story and the characters within could be very different to yours which could very well mean a WTF twist for you even if it wasn't for me. I did say the ending wasn't what I expected.
Comments about McC's mumbling would apply to all episodes.
