Good series. Glad I watched it. Become a bigger fan of MM as a result

I liked that they didn't allow Cohle to die. Always feels crap way to end a series.

I wonder who the next pairing of detectives will be? Darker? Corrupt? Funnier? Both women?

Same vein, another religious theme? Another serial killer?

I quite liked MM prior to this but he tended to be a bit 'rom-com'. He's certainly shown he has serious acting credentials with TD. Sad it's over but I like that they've not ended up stringing something out just because it was hugely successful.

That is the plus side about an anthology. No single story can be milked.

Will be interested to see where the series goes from here.

He couldn't die though - a major part of his development as a character/person was that he finally saw a positive - It was very subtly done but was in fact quite a monumental shift in his outlook. "Well, once there was only dark. If you ask me, the light's winning."

Absolutely loved last weeks episode and this weeks. The end of last weeks was wholly engaging and submerged me completely. Not had that since GoT and Braquo.
The end of last weeks reminded me of an end of Braquo very much. The characters of Rust Cohle is sublime. Love where the story is going.
Best first series since GoT.

Watched 5 last night.

Was just starting to get annoyed at the interviews and annoyed that obviously there was more to it and get on with it. when mm walked out.

Perfect timing.

So. Next to Game of Thrones True Detective is about the best thing on TV at the moment. Really excellent. The two leads are absolutely great.

Just watched the final episode.
WHAT A PROGRAM!
First two were quite slow for me and I was thinking about sacking it off. Glad I didn't. One of the best shows i've ever seen.

Watched E7, finally up to present day, and the circle gets murkier.
Quite enjoyed how the two came together and their work relationship, especially their stories of how their lives are going to each other. Very well executed.

I do have to replay certain scenes (more than twice), but then I had to do that on The Wire a lot.

Just finished watching the last episode. loved it - am quite surprised this thread wasn't on the first page, brilliant series, kept us hooked right 'till the end.
