A decent vest would stop pretty much anything except rifle round or penetrator cores. Quite telling that the second shot was to torso and not to the head which is where it should have been.

Still, it was pretty stupid to let his guard down and holster his firearm when in a darkened room of a house he had just broken into.

That DeVille should have stuck out like sore thumb on that street. Not many left on the roads in that good a condition...well none that haven't been Donked to death smile

Just finished the first two. Completely different so trying to put season 1 at the back of mind.

Last scene was a bit of a shocker. Not sure that was survivable.
Can't see how he would survive that.
I'm sure he will

With the best will in the world it never works. Best bet is to not read the thread until you're up to date IME.

That was what I thought. Don't remember seeing any splatter and I'm sure they would have shown it.

Nor me, to be honest. My wife actually fell asleep half way through. Although it was not helped by the very poor sound quality (recorded the 2am showing), most of the speech seemed mumbled at best.

I'm having to rewind some segments due to not understanding the dialogue, I thought it was the accents. The Wire was the same in places.

I never visit a thread about a series I'm following until I've viewed the most recent episode. It's not difficult.

That's what I thought but what self respecting psycho would use one unless they want to keep the victim for a spot of fun.

Yep, same here. Last time I remember having to do that was when watching Miami Vice (Also starring Farrell funnily enough), I ended up having to put subtitles on at a couple of points as couldn't understand a word.

Still hopeful they can inject a bit of the originals humour into the show to lighten the mood a touch. I've got no issues with dark and brooding but at the moment this just comes across as clichéd for me, especially Taylor Kitch's character.

Yep! I was thinking GTA5.

One of the shots at the end, when they find the body, reminded me of the area in the game way outside the city and you can see the lights along the coast in the distance.
If you ever get the chance to drive around LA for a while, it's a surreal experience.

I did it the other way around, and whenever I played GTA5 got deja-vu. I knew where to drive, and the landmarks and roads were all where they should be, sometimes even down to a small level.

Of course, the game map and the viewable details are condensed, but as you remember the landmarks, everything seems real, and is almost a blur on reality.

Like this for example:

I never played GTA5 but I drove around California a lot, the nice pic you posted is not near Los Angeles at all! It is the Bixby bridge, north of Big Sur along the coast, it is a 5 hours drive, 300+ miles along the Highway 101...

Well spotted!

I appreciate that, I simply chose some picture of a coast road as this was and that the reality and game had a very similar 'look', with a slight erring towards the noir elements of the filming of TD.

Yes, actually they managed to make the game look very convincing, I should try it, since a while it is available on PC too, I was a big fan of the very first 2D GTA back in 1998!

Yup me too. In fact above 5 times and I still can't understand certain words.

A bit too slow still, have to agree that I also have not been able to really like any of characters so feel a bit detached, unlike Rust and Marty. Still, get a feeling that the pacing will pick up fairly soon, quite possibly after that last scene.

On the cusp of giving up on this. Don't care or like the characters, can't understand what they are saying, too complex too soon and actually just an average crime show.

We will record them and I will check back here to hear the opinions of the collective.

When is the regular broadcast date/time?. I watch on NowTV so not sure if I am breaching any spoiler time frames.

I usually just wait until others discuss the episode before chiming in which is what I did in this case. Sorry if it ruined anyone's viewing.
