I thought it was okay (better than 2) but not as good as 1&3.

I think I even rate S3 over S1...

Not looking forward to S4 given the feedback.

Mostly 6 weeks of dicking about!

Watching 1 & 6 would almost cover it with not much missed.

Jarring contrasts between comfortably wandering around outside in the clothes they had to almost freezing to death - oh whats that's in the background, cannae be fueled vehicles with working heaters surely.

We saw the trailer to TD - Night Country and thought that looks good - let's watch from the beginning. We did not realise the style of the season's - which I am thankful for really as I can now wait for all to be shown to binge.

What I am not thankful for is missing this for ten years. we are 6 into Season 1 - and have read this thread's early pages - comments ten years old still hold true today - which is testament to the quality of the show. It is rather brilliant.

Will finish S01 tonight.

And we did finish - mighty good. Absolutely gripped.

As a big fan of Billions, I do like the actor Glenn Fleshler - he made a great baddie! I liked the ending too. Onto S02 tonight!!

I just re-watched Sharp Objects again for the first time in 5 years and it really is night and day better than Night Country. Really if you need to come down off S1 OF TD, Sharp Objects is just perfect.

"What a thing. Even when you win the fu*ked up family olympics."

That line had me in literal stitches in what was quite a poignant moment right at the end of the show. The newspaperbeditor - what a guy.

The music is stunning and really sets the tone of the show. Patricia Clarkson - WOW. Eliza Scanlon - Wow. And of course Amy Adams.

Sharp Objects is one of my favourite series ever, I bought it on Bluray. I love everything about it, the cinematography is just unreal, and the soundtrack !

Yeah me too - the slowness is like a perfect marinade, the little subtle Fight Club style interspered flash-backs. Watching again, with the benefit now of hindsight, you see how the killer hid in plain sight. It was executed perfectly. And that ending in the credits - still yikes.

Yep. Clearly a story that would have just about sustained a very average 2 hour content padding movie on Netflix dragged out for 6+ hours and with "True Detective" added to entice audiences in.

Dreadful characters, ridiculous plot "twists" and a premise pinched from Wind River. Garbage.

I forced myself to watch the latest True Detective but gave up 45mins into the last episode. It was such complete nonsense I just didn't care about the ending

Yes, same here. Typical ending that would have impressed the MsheU.

Kirwan and Eccleston were criminally underused, where many (almost non actors) were given far too much airtime.

A disaster in my book.

Late to the party, just finished S4. I liked it. Better than S2, maybe on par with S3. Of course no match for S1, not even God could make something that good.

Was a bit odd though, all the imagery and voodoo type stuff. Found it a little hard to follow and I don't usually struggle.

Having watched season 4 as my first True Detective, we then watched S1 on the back of the rave reviews.

It was good, but I must say I didn't quite get why people were saying it was so amazing. Wondering if there was an element of it I wasn't quite getting, but it certainly didn't go down as an epic.

My view too, so you're not alone.
