I'm sure people said that when they made jokes about the Mexicans a while back.

Yeah, they just stop one of the most widely watched shows in the world and give up the billions in revenue.

And it's so racist that it's only viewed in a couple of hundred countries

Pretty decent apology..

Wont be enough for some, or I doubt the lady on a rampage about the "slope" comment, no doubt.

This latest controversy is madness - a witchhunt.

Footage here

Firstly, the 'offending' clip was never actually broadcast, so this must have been leaked by someone involved with the production or some other politically motivated loony lefite idiot at the BBC (and it is not like the place isn't full of them). Secondly, having watched it dozens of times (can't help it with that overbearing edit on The Mirror site) there is no way you can make out what word was said. This is an example of 'if your mind is thinking that way then you will make the inference that the word is used'.

My daughter recently recited the same rhyme (we have never taught her it) and she used the word 'tigger'. Me and my wife asked her to repeat what she'd said (for fear she may have said something else - innocently of course as she is 6!), which says more about us, society and the paranoia surrounding racism and political correctness than her.

Judge for yourself - who is being irrationally prejudiced? Clarkson, or the people who assume some mumbled indeterminable language which was never directed at anyone is to their ears offensive because they don't like the person who said it?

The thought police are at work with this one....

Madness, yes, madness that a vastly wealthy and well known personality who fronts one of the corporations most profitable shows would be so utterly stupid as to put himself in this position.

I like Clarkson but he needs to clean up is act. It's just not funny any more. I don't know if anyone else saw it but Andi Peters seemed to mock the comment on breakfast TV, using the same rhyme. All it takes in this age of media is for something to start trending and the pressure will build.

I think Jezza has a motivated spy in his camp.
Root the mole out I say !!!

Surely the BBC cam's that were there on the n*gg*r day,(even as it was not audible,) must have picked up exactly who was standing in-front of Jezza with the camera phone.

I'm no fan of Jezza, not bothered about watching TG, have no time at all for racists or trolls blah blah blah.

But when are the British press going to realise that we have had enough of their odious self-righteousness and stop hounding anybody who says or does anything they don't like? Why do dim people keep buying these rags FFS?

Mrs F who generally gets annoyed by Clarkson except when he's doing his serious military documentaries stuff made what I think is a fair point.

Serial wishing to be offended offenders. If JC had said 'catch an idiot by his toe...' they would have been complaining that by implication he was calling all black people idiots, which they clearly aren't.

It wasn't camera-phone footage - it was actual 'cutting room floor' stuff, which means there is someone on the inside motivated to undermine one of their big money-spinners.

If the BBC does eventually get broken up then it will be because of these suicidal, politically motivated leftie insiders.

I'm wondering if that failed actress who tried to raise a sham legal claim against the program promised some low-level errand boy (*or girl - sorry, must keep the political balance) on the production team sexual favours in return for smuggling the out-take out....?

+1

As a mate of mine said last night, 'trying to avoid offending someone who is determined to be offended is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end'.

That's a brilliantly quotable quote. I love it.

No, you'd just have idiots complaining instead, assuming that they were not stupid enough in the first place to realise that they were being called idiots.

I wonder if the BBC has the same complaint issues when it screens Dam Busters?

This!

How much money has the scrote that sifted through the cutting room floor to find this (dubious at best) footage, footage that was never intended to be used, I hasten to add, made for the BBC, and how much money has Clarkson made for the BBC?

This is nothing other than a good ol' fashioned witch hunt.

The remake of Dam Busters film, being written by Stephen Fry, will have a dog in called 'Digger'
