First of all you have to deliberate it a coincidence or accident.

Pro:
1. All three plates have a reference to the war
2. It is statistically impossible to have all 3 cars with references to the same war, which indicates they have been added to the cars
3. There has been cry of coincidence from TG for the first car, however not the remaining two
4. There has been no apology for the coincidence
5. TG has a history of such things (E.g. Mexico, Belgium)
6. It has been done in the style of TG (Using the car to convey the message, rather then mention anything in the script)

If TG did buy the cars like that then they would the V5 documents to show the car with the plates. However in my opinion the plates have been added. Not sure how to check TBH.

....I am not bothered either way TBH however I have been looking for an argument all day!

You're really starting to piss me off, the three plates do NOT have a reference to the war, not even fking close. I have an 84 porsche in the garage, the plate has the number 270 on it. Are you actually trying to claim that two plates with numbers that are within 50 of a particular number that is loosely related to the war is a planned thing, you could have picked any fking number that was close. If it was 40 you could go with the number of ships sent, if 800, the number of missiles fired, etc etc.

Get a fking grip

I find it amazing that anyone believes this.

Remember, everything you see on topgear is staged, even the publicity.

The backstory is almost irrelevant, look how much attention they got for the upcoming series yesterday/today.

Plus there is now a nice 'hook' to get people to watch as they want to see the natives kicking off, etc.

1. Can you explain how please?
2. Stop saying statistically impossible, cause it just isn't. Statistically impossible just means impossible, all three registrations are legal for the cars they are on therefore it is, however unlikely, not impossible.
3. What is the coincidence on cars 2&3 - see point 1
4. Are you sure they should apologise for a coincidence?
5. circumstantial at best
6. Other examples? circumstantial.

Well people in this very thread have already checked and said the reg has been on the car since 2001 - that's some serious forward planning from TG.

Of course TG were going to go all the way to Argentina and make no reference to the war or sovereignty, it's what they do, keep a low profile etc?

As I said....I have no basis either way.

Its the combination of points from my perspective that make it more likely than not that TG did it on purpose.

Anyway I am off for w/e. Have a good one.

Have you found any cars with plates in coincidence?

I trust you are all looking to try and disprove my points?
smile

Nothing found so far I guess?

You should give up. I am right you are wrong.

Back to w/e.

Well, I used to drive a Volvo S40, P709***.

907 people were killed in the Falklands War.

Another predictable "outrage" to launch the new series of top gear.

I think they need to find something new. It's just getting sad now.

There's a phone box over there...

Don't ring 16 8 for god's sake. Though 999 should suit.
