Ok. I did enjoy the film but thought there was maybe a bit too much of a human element, although it makes sense due to the story.

I found there just wasn't the amount of action I was expecting from this film. The effects, as usual were great and the Dinobots were superb.

One thing I found myself smiling about was that Frank Welker did the voice of Galvatron & he did a great job. I remember reading that Michael Bay thought his voice wouldn't suit Megatrons in the first 3 films. How wrong he was.

Someone on another forum pointed out that Optimus Prime becomes more and more of a violent, murderous sociopath as each films progresses.

I can't remember all of the pointers towards this but some highlights include the second film Prime screaming "GIVE ME YOUR FACE!" at the Fallen before ripping it off (bearing in mind he's supposed to be the hero character, this doesn't seem like rational, sane behaviour) and then in the third film Sentinel Prime has Optimus defeated, Megatron comes in, defeats Sentinel and saves Prime saying he wants a truce and how does Prime repay Megatron? By straight up murdering him and then executing Sentinel Prime with a shot to the back of the head whilst he's wounded and pleading for mercy.

In the latest film he basically orders the Dinobots to help his family or he'll kill them.

Isn't that what happens to him in Canon anyway? I remember Rodimus Prime - I wonder if that's a direction it'll take...

No. The old Prime was a white-than-white knight, who once even allowed himself to be destroyed because he allowed cartoon characters to perish. He was a paragon, though other Autobot leaders were dirtier, like Fortress Maxmimus or Grimlock.

Saw this on Tuesday night, about an hour too long for me, just seemed to move from one big action set piece to another, big fight in one city then move it to the next. I used to love the dino bots when I was a kid but no real back story given to them and the whole knights thing, all in all I found it just to be a mish mash of ideas none of which were fully developed-like a ten year old had wrote the script.

Still an enjoyable pop corn movie IMO, special effects I think I’m just becoming de-sensitised to saw it in 2D.

I watched this last night. Thought it was quite good although unnecessarily long. The only question I have is what were the dune buggys chasing the rallycross Chevy......and where can i get one? They looked and sounded amazing!

It was a Bay movie...

I wish there had been more story about the Knights/Dinobots/Prison ship, but I'm guessing that will be in T5.

Length was ok for me. I'd rather there be lots of it than feel short changed.

Prime does indeed appear to becoming more violent. This I think is good, but bad too. It just shows he has emotions about being betrayed, losing brothers, and so on.

Yes, too much human element, story line. But DAMN good to not have Shia in it. And Wahlberg I though was pretty good in the lead.

I'm going to see it again next week. I really did enjoy it, but just want to reaffirm things.

Been a bit slow on this one... Just taken the kids to see it in 3D at the Giant.

OMG... a 3HR car chase with guns and a fire breathing Dinobot. I enjoyed it, but I lost count of the times I heard "Woah" and "Oh man that was awesome" coming from the kids, so Job Done.

I'm thinking David Lynch, or Cronenburg...That would make it interesting......

Ive sort of spun back through the last couple of pages here and without wanting to try and overthink a Transformers movie...

... where do you think they'll go with the whole Yeager thing? Are we looking at a Pre-qual to Pacific Rim ? Or was that part of the story a Paramount/Bay piss take?

I'll buck the general trend on here and say I loved it.

I don't often bother with the cinema but the film flew by for me. Yes there are a few negatives - it felt like there was more about the humans than the Transformers in this one in parts; I actually didn't like the Dinobots that much - would have preferred to see them fighting a lot more in robot mode and didn't feel they added that much to the film.

As others

Just replace Christian bale with Optimus prime in the dark knight rises. Hmmm.

Was too long for me. Too many action scenes and no substance.

Went and saw this on Saturday evening. Wasn't particularly impressed with it. It just seemed to drag on and on without any real direction! I kept noticing the very obvious product placement which got on my nerves and it just didn't seem all that exciting!

Watched at the weekend. OK for what it was. Still disapointed though really.

These films had the potential to be so amazing. The human element is annoying. It's a film called Transformers and therefore should be about the Transformers not a bunch of people who found the Transformers. The Dinobot thing annoyed me too. Those little hints then nothing, nothing, nothing, oh no wait we need to include them for the end.

Why couldn't they follow the story of the originals rather than trying to rewrite it?

That's the problem. It should be called, the adventures of humans and their robot pals.
