That was the third. Pontiac GTO, Ford F1 Pick up and last night's MGA.

Hope Ed was careful where he drilled the hole for the retaining pin on the crankshaft oil seal bush, it looked perilously close to the lip of the oil seal, which will be ripped to shreds if it runs over the hole where the pin sits.
I'm just watching it now from my planner and was thinking the same thing, surprised he didn't mention it after the amount of time spent on that particular section of the 'restoration'.

Just watching it now, and the music does seem rather more intrusive than in the past. It's funny how you notice things more when they're pointed out.

Just watched the Ford Pickup and the MGA episodes (missed the GTO one unfortunately) and I like the look of this series so far - at least they've done away with the highly annoying 'coming up' bits before the ad breaks! I personally don't find the music overly intrusive - not compared to the American shows where it's constant chugging 'Metal' guitar riffs. smile

Here is the US I've almost given up with Velocity as every damn show has the same thing. That and the constant what's coming up next, they ruin it all before it's started!

Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be repeated. Many, many, many times. smile

The 'coming up' feature is really annoying. WHo in their right mind wants to know what's going to happen? Even worse is the beginning of the show showing the outcome of the build.

I get around it by only watching recorded shows and nifty use of the remote.

I think that it's to try to convince the ADHD generation not to flick channels during the advert breaks. Mind you, on the very rare occasions I watch shows "live" the advert breaks are so ridiculously long that I tend to hit Record and come back later.

But, yes, judicious use of the FF key is often needed on these shows. Discovery Channel are definitely the worst for it, but Quest aren't a lot better as they do it on Salvage Hunters too.

I caught an old "On the Road" episode the other night where they had a bright yellow Land Rover that allegedly had a V8 in it that they did an LPG conversion on. Didn't sound like a V8 to me - no burble whatsoever and a distinctly 4-pot engine noise.

I haven't seen last nights - I'll watch that tonight probably.

Really enjoying the series so far - it's been a pretty good mix of yank stuff and cars that the European market is more familiar with.

Thought last night's episode was particularly good… almost a return to WD of old.

I was quite glad when they glossed over (pun intended!) the new paintwork... as it's pretty tedious watching Ed sand down a car yet again. The focus on the fuel injection system was well done. Always good when you learn something new, and it made me very glad I never tinkered with the K-Jet system on my old 2.8 Capri (I appreciate the two are not exactly the same before anyone shouts me down).

Touring International, Injected.

3/4 the way down the page:

"Finally, the 2000tii ('touring international, injected') was BMW's first fuel-injected model, featuring a higher-compression 2.0L engine and Kugelfischer brand mechanical fuel injection that later found its way into the 2002 Turbo and other models. 1,922 2000tii cars were built of this final New Class sedan model."

I suggest a drinking game based on Monday's program.

A shot for how many times they many it hasn't run for 17 years.

I predict not making it to the first advert break and being in A&E by the second.

Wow. 17 years?

17 years, you say.

Oh! 17 years.

Blimey, 17 years?

Gosh. An O-ring has failed. Why might that be? Because it's not been run in ages? In how long? Please tell me! Answers on a postcard.

(The answer was 17 years, amazingly)

Edit: The segment on refurbishing the mechanical fuel injection system was genuinely interesting.
