Wheeler Dealers 2014/2015 - New Series
Discussion
I know some have said that the Escort episode last night is one of the best, but I didn't think so. Loved the subject matter, but way too much of the build was skipped in favour of superfluous crap like Mike and Ed getting their rally licence.
What about the new exhaust, the new shocks, the new bits on the engine etc.?

Regardless of the car not being a genuine RS2000, it would have been great to see the build from start to finish i.e. including installing the twin carbs and what looked like a very nice exhaust manifold and system. Too much time was wasted seeing Mike and ED going through rally school. A pity really as apart from that it wasn't a bad episode.

I don't think you missed much seeing an exhaust being fitted, I'm sure Kiwkfit wouldn't mind you popping down and watching an 'install'. It was a good episode, there have been some terrible episodes and I'd suggest if you don't enjoy it, don't watch! It's entertainment, much like Top Gear was.Ilovetwiglets said:

I believe I said 'it wasn't a bad episode' i.e. it was quite interesting, you obviously missed that bit. My reference to the exhaust system was that it would have been interesting to see where they sourced it from or who made it for them if it was a custom build. Also seeing what carbs they fitted and how they were set up would have been interesting rather than watching the two of them gaining a rally licence.
True, but they have already shown setting up carbs in great detail with the Lamborghini Urraco episode (and absolutely fascinating it was too), and have also shown both custom exhausts and custom exhaust manifolds being manufactured in the past too. With a programme that has been running for as long as this they are between a rock and a hard place. They either have to show something new at the expense of skipping over stuff they have done to previous cars that also need doing the current one, or risk repeating themselves.
Only caught this last night & it was one of the half baked episodes IMHO.
They kept on about it being rust free but I'm sure I saw rust bubbles on the N/S door when it was being trailered back to the workshop. The other annoying thing was the paint job. The previous owner had gone to the trouble of spraying the door shuts but not the underside of the bonnet or boot lid & then to compound it the WD boys then resprayed the engine bay, boot & inside of the car in Silver again when it was just as easy to have done it green. Why do this? Nice car none-the-less & I was glad to find out it wasn't a genuine RS2000 they decided to convert.

she did seem somewhat younger than her fiance
I'm sure she's the co driver for Phil the technical advisor on the show, so it's a bit of a setup just for the purposes of entertainment I think. Still, I enjoyed the episode. Kaj91 said:
