I remember another, similar show to WD did one of these. Must have been shown in the last three years or so. I cannot remember the name of the other show. Their one was so rotten that they had to cut out and replace nearly every single body panel.
Worse than that; they fabricated a new chassis out of box section steel as it was shot. And replaced the entire floor of the van.JonRB said:

That's not the show I was referring to. We are at cross purposes. The show I was thinking of was called Turbo Pickers. Their Citroen H van episode, the one with the rotten chassis, was first broadcast on 15th December 2014.
That sounds about right. The one I was referring to, where they fabricated a chassis, definitely did not have Mike Brewer in it. Christ but Mike was even more annoying than usual last night.
Setting aside the fact that he said "Haitch" all the way through the programme he also seemed to be labouring under the misapprehension that semaphore indicators are called "Semi-four". Maybe because there are only two of them, I don't know. He also suggested that Edd couldn't fail to be charmed by the van's "Gaelic" charm, as if Citroen was an Irish or possibly Scottish company.
Edd doesn't say these idiotic things and he knows how to pronounce "aitch" so why doesn't he, for the good of humanity, take Mike to task?

Because Mike's a bleedin' Cockney, innit. He's a geeeeezah. He's a little bit woooo, a little bit wayyyyy. Owd ahhht yer aaaand. Whereas Edd is a nice boy from the Home Counties who knows how to speak.

I've never watched Turbo pickers in my life but I've definitely watched a show with one of these vans being done up in the last 5ish years and it wasn't Deals on wheels either.
Me too. A restoration was also done on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces. I don't recall watching that either!Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
