likewise, WD is enjoyable only because I can FFWD through the adverts and the following 60 second repeat of the highlights of a programme I watched 5 minutes ago!!
Sometimes I will FFWD through the entire first section of Mike buying the car and start at the potted summary after the first advert break. Quite enjoyed tonight's episode - I had a bit of a sinking feeling when it opened with scripted banter, but it soon picked up.
Never been a fan of those Merc convertibles though... I always imagine that they were/are driven by arrogant old ladies, wrapped in a mink coat and with a horrible yapping dog tucked under a flabby arm. The sort of dreadful person who'd say "don't you know who my husband is?" at any given opportunity.
Anyway (and possible alcohol-fueled personal prejudice aside), I thought they did a good job on the car... was interesting to see Edd's timing chain replacement method, and the removal of the front sub frame part looked like a hell of a job.
Good stuff from the WD team as always.

Can't believe how Americanised they have made Wheeler Dealers. I know it's produced by Velocity now but it's just not as good since they started doing them from the US of A.
Every element of production is straight out of American TV Presenting for Dummies.
I preferred it when they were doing rusty old British Classics from a dingy rural industrial unit up a muddy dirt track.
Another show the Yanks have ruined. Can you imagine Fast N Loud coming to the UK and doing it the British way, of course not.

The 560 was not sold in the UK and the engine was somewhat crippled for emissions reasons so a Euro spec 500 offers very similar performance.
I have done the subframe job without the benefit of a lift, I used a technique something like someone lying on the floor balancing a ball on their feet. That said it wasn't too bad. Also the first time I have watched WD and actually own one of the specialist tools that Edd uses.
