I can't remember the price.
I suppose the rumours of rust did for the sale. I will be looking for a 993 targa myself, once I've sold my Quattroporte.
I definitely would have popped along to have a look at it if the timing had been right.
Rust? It appeared to be in cracking condition on the big screen. I suppose the rumours of rust did for the sale. I will be looking for a 993 targa myself, once I've sold my Quattroporte.

I've just decided to brave the Rx7 episode. I can't see anything that needs changing on the original car. Looks great in silver with Mazdaspeed bits and BBS alloys. It reminds me of my eunos which was the same colour with BBS alloys and lots of Mazdaspeed parts.
Personally, I think my least favourite episodes are the ones where they take a perfectly straight car and then dick around with it and ruin it. I'm thinking about the Skyline drift car, the Porsche 924 track slag, and this RX-7 one. The latter was particularly bad. Dishonourable mention also goes for the 993 Targa where they blew a completely unnecessary £3k on custom suspension when simply replacing the suspension with standard would have been more appropriate to the car and yielded more of a profit (on the grounds that the only people who would pay extra for the custom suspension would be looking to buy a GT3 and not a Targa)
Surely a lot of the program is about showing different things that can be done to the car, not necessarily the 'right' things. It would be bloody dull if every week was a case of Ed servicing the engine, replacing brakes and touching up the paint. At least this way we get to see some interesting businesses.

I don't disagree with you, but for me personally I much more enjoy the restoration projects where they restore a tired and neglected car to its former glory than when they take a straight car and "improve" it with questionable results. Especially when the restoration project involves trying to source hard-to-find parts or fabricating them. JonRB said:

Absolutley agree with you! Have you seen Car SOS, it's basically that, every week. Has been a great watch.
I have. It's not bad but it seems more "reality show" than Wheeler Dealers, and by that I mean it focuses more on the people than the cars so there is less spannering shown than in Wheeler Dealers - Edd China talking you through what he's doing is the part I enjoy the most. Another culprit is Fast N Loud which is even more "reality show". JonRB said:

I reckon once you take out the rather labored 'Dealer' part from WD it's about the same amount of spanner time.
What I was trying to say was not so much the amount of spannering, but the quality of it. I really like Edd China's style of kind of explaining what he's doing as he goes along, but without going into the kind of detail that would alienate a majority of viewers. They get it pretty much spot on for me, whilst Car SOS, Fast N Loud and Extreme Car Hoarders all gloss over it too much (well, for me anyway). Contigo said:
£7K ?For any prospective owners this upgrade to contactless TB is a MUST do. Mike who is shown in this video does the upgrade for a much better price than others out there.
