I have a feeling that the purchase price doesn't reflect the potential running costs ?
No because at the end of the day it has running costs associated with a £60k+ car. The same applies for running a 15k E60M5 and a £9k B5 RS4..... you get the picture?

Parts for the 3200 are extortionate but thanks to the internet there are alternative Fiat/Alfa parts to use and the forums offer a vast amount of info which makes running these actually quite palatable. As long as the car has history and lots of it, has been well used and has the important upgrades done like the Contactless TB etc then all will be fine.

Just watching an old episode of the Porsche 944 Turbo, thought I recognised where he was on the test drive, it was my home town - Maidenhead! Weird considering he was on a test drive in a car he was buying in Enfield, that's one hell of a test drive! I know it's mostly for the camera and scripted but it was amusing.

TD V8 I believe.

Here he's down at Vortex getting exhaust fitted.

Crashey suspension? Didn't the 3200 have some fearsomely complicated early active suspension called skyhook or something?

How much yikes

What's wrong with a bit of cable and a spring?

3200 has Bilstein actuators similar and often referred to as skyhook. These actuators were an option and you can tell they are fitted as the car has a SPORT button.

The later 2001 on car had the updated steering as per the Asseto Corsa.

You can't charge people £2k to replace a bit of cable and a spring!

Or am I just an old cynic?....

The magneti marelli throttle bodies were awful and also fitted to the Volvo which had lots of issues too. The best thing anyone can do is upgrade as per Mike Roberts co tactless system, transforms the car.

They didn't mention the car had done 95,000 miles and was an ELEVEN owner car! £12,500 was a LOT for that car.

That was worse than the RX7 episode.

I'm struggling to believe they didn't do a 4WG on it especially after replacing all tyres and track rod ends.

Also the dot on the tyres has generally meant SFA in my experience of fitting tyres

£475 for a pot? That is the exact same sixty year old technology as I have in my guitar controls & they're a fiver a pop. What a rip off.

You've not dealt with Maserati?

hehe

I've not yet watched the episode. It sounds contentious.

Pal of mine had a GT that spent a day a on average each week being trailered away
to the dealer & that was a sparkler, so no, I was put off a teeny tiny touch. smile

Anyway, there's Italian exotica prices & there's being gouged to within an inch of your life.

I've owned a 4200 and now a QP. I had the plugs changed on the latter a month ago. It cost nearly £500 from an Independent!

Trouble was, to get to the rear two plugs, they had to remove the wipers the scuttle and some other panels.
