I was thinking the same thing. The milometer was on 114k when they last encountered it, so it's had a rough 12k miles since then !

I'm confused. Is this a car that featured on Wheeler Dealers (in the sense that Edd worked on it) and has fallen back into disrepair, or is it one that featured long enough for Mike Brewer to say "bleedin' 'ell, I can't turn a profit on that; I'm walking away" and then chose a different car for Edd to work on?

If the latter than it's a bit cheeky advertising it as a Wheeler Dealers car.

I think it's one that was previously featured - see youtube link above.

In 10 years it has decayed so much, jeez I knew they were rot boxes like when I had my bad sills but will now avoid one as a keeper!

I suspect that it had been stripped and then left to rot outside.

Ah right. I hadn't realised that Wheeler Dealers had been going for as long as 10 years. That's plenty of time for a car to completely deteriorate. yes

Would be quite good to have a series of "Revisited" programmes like Grand Designs sometimes does. You could have Mike and Edd looking aghast at what has happened to the cars since they last saw them. smile

For their age they're actually very good at fending off the tin-worm, they got progressively worse until the MK4 at that - sadly that one has been badly neglected.

Would be an excellent WD car though, in the 10 years since they did it last time good ones have rocketed in price, and rough serviceable ones are few and far between.

Would make for a really interesting episode of WD!

Not bad, having paid £11,800 for it (£4.5k for the original car).

Well know this program is let's say a little contrive but according to the specialist who worked on the 3200 there was a lot more done to the car than shown. By my estimations with these extra parts no money was made on it. The sooner they turn this into a buying guide program rather than a cleaver "Look me and my mate made a whacking 1k profit on this car" program surely the better?

"We did have to pretty much replace the whole of the active ride system on that car - all shocks, two actuators."

"At the time the binnacle was done, we hadn't even started on the suspension, and, the film of the binnacle going in may have been shot when the film crew was available, not necessarily when the binnacle was fully repaired. A previous owner had tried to deliberately deceive future purchasers by cutting and rewiring the binnacle in lots of different places - it was much more serious than covered in the show."

The better for who though? The hyper realists who want to know every single detail in the car's history or those who cannot BEAR a lie?!!

This argument is so worn out it's ready for Mike to take it to the trimmers where it can be reupholstered in five minutes flat complete with a few gags & a cup of tea thrown in.

It's entertainment pure & simple. Its message if it has one at all is to illustrate how jobs can be tackled at home even without several unseen mechanics, a fully kitted out garage & a much bigger budget than we're letting on.

Why this rubbish about deception comes around every week is a mystery. It's as dull as it is repetitive.
