Next Monday there starts a new series with our heroes. Called "Wheeler Dealers: Top 5" it begins with a double header.
Cheap clip show, any money you like.

We'd be in business if Blib didn't have such short arms & long pockets.

I really enjoyed the Amficar episode. I think there was a LOT of work in there that they didn't show. But watching the car drive off the road and into the river is just hilarious.

Couldn't believe it when Edd was soda-blasting the car in the yard outside the bodyshop, and the dust was going absolutely everywhere including over all the cars in the background. OK, so it's not as abrasive as sand, but even so...

I saw an amphibious car being tested by the owner at Greenwhich, on the Thames. I thought it was an Amphicar but now I'm not so sure.

Whatever it was, it was weird to see it enter the water. There was a strong current and the intention was to 'park' it by the slipway but it proved too difficult a maneuverer. Great fun to watch. The chap ended up by tying the thing to a nearby boat and waiting for the tide to turn to mild cheers.

Although I have no love for the car itself, I also enjoyed the Amphicar episode, showed some proper work getting done to it as well as keeping a bit of honesty about it with the breakdown while in the water.

I too FFWD through all the buying bit, the recap after the adverts bits etc with the Sky+. But I watched the buying bit at the start last night and the American seller was a little strange!

The seller was an American in Florida. The buyer was Dutch.

Whilst I enjoyed seeing Edd do the metalwork, it glossed over the fact that Brewer flew all the way to Florida to buy a lemon that had more filler in it than the Isopon factory, when the likelihood of any WD viewer doing up an Ampicar is pretty much nil.

I know we've done the 'free labour' point to death but there really was no money in that car in real world terms. I've moved from avid real-time viewer to Sky+ fast-forwarder in one short series.

I suppose it is the principle of importing a car. the same could be said of that Eastern Bloc pile of poo they salvaged (FSO Serena??)

Maybe he bought it when he was in America buying the Camaro?

If the car had been mint it would have been a pretty short programme, I'm sure they knew exactly what they were buying. I enjoy watching WD, but as entertainment not as a documentary.

This is no way a criticism of your comment, but what do you think future series should cover?

Honda S2000?
Granada? Too many of them are getting wrecked by the banger racing folks.
Misubishi Evo?
Lambo Countach would be good.
One of those daft wee tiny Japanese vans - can't remember the name. The ones that like they'd go over on their nose if you braked hard enough.
Fiat Panda?

Al fairly iconic cars, would love to see them do at least one of the above.
