Yep, that's WDs.

That's why I record them and forward through all the pointless filler. Can watch 3 episodes in an hour.
It's just a TV show, basic padding so they can fill in the time between the adverts, don't get confused with the show being the important bit, it's the filler. Money, money, money. I'd like to see Ed do a show on his own, I've learn't loads of mechanicals off him. Maybe him & Mark Evans doing something together.

The Mark Evans stuff whilst more technical also suffers from the TV land trick of stuff appearing on the car/plane/helicopter as if by magic. Watch closely & you see lots of components fully installed that weren't there five minutes ago.

If you take these things as entertainment & not some chapter & verse reality series then you're ok. In fact, The Garage is probably the truest representation of what happens fixing cars, with Jock bashing lumps out of things with club hammers & ranting away at hungover grease monkeys.

They could just as easily fill in the time between adverts with Ed doing some spannering. It's not as if it only takes 10mins to fix the car up and they are then stuck with 30mins of dead air-time, that NEEDS padding. I'd rather watch 10mins of satin black rattle-can action, than recaps of stuff I've already seen.

Exactly, they need a refresh. Also I've edited my earlier post as it looked like it was written whilst drunk.

Mike Brewer has said this morning on Facebook that the new series starts on 1st September.

There is definitely a BMW Z1 on the new series. Ed had got the wish he stated on the Isetta episode.

That'll explain why I saw a Z1 driving through one of the industrial areas of Bracknell a few weeks ago. I think it was red but this was a while ago and I could be completely wrong!

I hope it's a 50's Continental MK 2 and not some naff 1970's or 80's version. Here, have a picture of onethumbup

Looks exactly like a Z1 if you use the helpful scroll button & wind it on a few pictures.

Hmmm. Either AdBlock Plus or NoScript must have killed the scroll button for me. All I see is the Lincoln.

Sorry about that. paperbag

Edit: What a badly designed web page! It's not immediately obvious that after you have scrolled through all the pictures of one car, it then moves on to the next car.

smile

I did have it scrolled to the Z1, but it must revert back to the end of the pics when linking.

Click on the picture and it will change to the next one. Keep going till you see the BMW (looks like a cheap kit car to me).

Jesus, I must have had half a pint too much at lunch to not be able to work that function. Yes, that's what I saw in Bracknell, it was really shifting along!
