Thought the first episode was quite a good one. Interesting to see a whole car wet sanded, looked beautiful when finished and I'm no yank car fan.

I saw a red Z1 on the A4 east of Reading the other day - only a few miles from Bracknell, so wonder if it was this WD car... I've never previously seen one on the road. Didn't get the registration unfortunately.
I saw a Red Z1 being trailered by a 4x4 a few months back through Preston Lancs, Wonder if it was the same one. I'll be interested to see where they buy it from.

Wheeler Dealers and Transfer Deadline day. My missus will be chuffed with tonights TV schedule biggrinhehe
Was a good nights entertainment.

I was quite interested in the wet sanding process of 1500,2000, 3000grit sand paper then a polish but certainly not for £900

Enjoyed it, but I always do, nice and simple and fills the hour well

Even my misses loves it and she has no interest in cars .

Ed and Paul make it look so simple, would love to see how much they swear and curse off camera!!!

I found that an interesting episode and the car was finished off really well. Bit expensive for a wedding car though.

I’m willing to bet that there are HOURS of outtakes filled with profanity... there is just something about working on cars that makes you swear like a good ‘un. Saying that though, if you’ve got a nice warm garage, numerous helpers behind the scenes and a decent lift it must be so easy to work on a car (well, easier than lying on your back in the rain with skinned knuckles and cursing yet another sheared bolt that is just out of reach...).

I enjoyed last night’s show: not the best episode ever but it must be hard for the WD people to come up with ideas they’ve not covered a thousand times before. Thought the period accessories were a nice touch and the paint resto process was interesting (if expensive).

Just watching it now.

I can't decide if the seller 'stealing' Mike's "you just bought yourself" line and Mike's protestation was cute or horribly contrived.

Mike helping Old Gil fit the power windows was a nice novelty.

thought it was quite a good first episode, although not sure what was going on with the background music throughout, was very annoying

Let's see if Fast n Loud is back on form tomorrow night.
Mr Brewer seriously needs to take some US style negotiating techniques off Richard Rawlings.

Seller: I want $26000
Brewer: I'll offer you $24000

Seller: I want $26000
Rawlings: I'm thinking more like $12000

It would be interesting to see what the Gas Monkeys made WD. I noticed on twitter that Mike Brewer has been out to visit them in Texas.

Fast 'N Loud is my new fav car TV show. I only discovered it a couple of months ago and have been catching up on Discovery Turbo reruns.

Fast N Loud pretty much *is* Wheeler Dealers.

But if Wheeler Dealers was done in the style of Fast N Loud you'd get a reality show about Mike, with maybe 10 mins of Edd spannering, of which 5 mins would be a contrived argument between Edd and Mike.

Exactly, WD is all about the cars, not the giant egos of the presenters - Fast 'n' Loud is the opposite.

Boy do they love themselves!

ETA - That, and Classic Car rescue are the only car related shows I have actually taken off series link...

Thuderbird tonight isn't it?

Always good to see a new series of WD though: I know the show has its detractors but I really enjoy it.
I think the fact that it has lasted so many years, suggests it has a strong following (and rightly so).

Edd's spannering.
Something occurred to me last night on the subject of Edds 'spannering': why does he insist on using an actual screwdriver, even when removing screws?

Perhaps on re-assembly he likes the 'finesse' hand tools achieve, but he could save a lot of time on disassembly with the use of power driver I'd have thought.

It's probably just for the cameras because the director thinks it looks nice or a similarly stupid reason!

Was an ok episode, I liked the sanding process. I also liked the fact that when mike was helping with the windows, he had blood on his hand, meaning he did what the rest of us would do lol.

I nearly always use hand tools. Power stuff usually runs the risk of stripping screw heads or sending it flying.

I liked the polishing. It was £900 because of the guy's labour (& skill). £50 worth of consumables and a DA polisher (and the cohones to attempt the job) is all you need. Interesting points about using resin-free polishing compound and linear rubbing down.

I think most of the swearing was when they were trying to fit the soft-top smile.

Hand tools certainly have their place, however, particularly with removing screws etc, I find that with a power tool you can apply more downward force (whilst the tool worries about the turning motion) which means you're less likely to round the head.

Quick heads up for tonight’s show... Jag XJ-C.

Been looking forward to this once as I don’t know that much about the cars (do like ‘em though).
