For once I think they made a genuine profit on that as I don't believe there was £8k of labour in that and the parts prices seemed plausible.
And they could have easily not changed the steering taking the profit up to£9kOn the barn door dent - have a look online you will see they all have a recess in that door clearly for potential issues like door swinging open and crushing the body round the chrome handle.
Regardless the end result looked really good (I'd opt for Duck egg blue though)
It was a good episode.
As for strong cash a friend of mine sold a 3.2 with 120k on it for over £4k. Between that a very abused 70k example owned by a lady I also know (near enough every wheel was kerbed on that car in addition to the clutch being changed by the cheapest garage she could find and that's before I get to the discs being worn down to the nub) I know which I would have bought .
My Porker 944 with 40k more on it was a FAR more enjoyable and reliable steed than the one with less mileage. I will admit I do look beyond the mileage unlike a number of people though. For me if the car is right, there is no point looking elsewhere. I have known people to buy super low milers only to plough a fortune into if they actually use the car (tyres being the first thing).

Id like to see them do a full split camper rebuilt but I guess it would cost too much and take too long
Having seen a few splitty restorations the amount of time it would take would probably give the producers enough material to make the next ten series of WD based on just one vehicle. aka_kerrly said:
