It certainly started with a bang!
Anyone else reckon Ep1 would end up with Thandie Newton about to be sawn up by the Forensic guy?
If you did, you're lying

But I guessed she'd wake up because a lead character doesn't get chopped up in EP1

I did think there you don't sign up an A-list Hollywood actress like Thandie Newton then bump her off at the end of Ep 1.
Or do you?
Note the pointed leaving of her mobile at home (presumably so she could deny ever going to his flat, her knowing that it would not be possible to ID her location via phone tracking, if he complained) and the drop into the plot that his CCTV door entry was controlled by his own (deleteable by a forensic geek) computer, then they could be lining it up for her to totally disappear at the hands of Tim.
AC12 then get investigated for leaning on her too heavily, "turn the screw" etc ... that's a proper plot tailspin!

But if you do bump her off in episode 1, you presumably have to pay her a lot less than you would if she was in the whole series, whilst still getting to do the old, 'Starring an A list Hollywood actor' spin beforehandOr do you?

she did leave it at home but did you not see the shot of a car pulling up outside, We presumed it was her husband following to give her phone to her, or being suspicious. Then again, he didn't appear during the time there was some DIY shopping going on. Perhaps hubby thinks there is ugly bumping going on. Or it wasn't him and I'm an idiot. Or do you?
