The 'doofus from Parks & Recreation' was also the lead character in the Lego Movie and will be the lead in Jurassic World (Jurassic Park 4), so he's not doing too badly . Karen 'Amy Pond from Doctor Who' Gillan is popping up in a few movies and US TV too.

I have only read Rocket Raccoon in the past, so I have no prior knowledge of much of this.
The odd casting also makes me view this film as a curiosity. I have no expectations from this film (save that it may resemble a sucky 80s space adventure).
So I shall see.
