That's fair. I can see what they're trying to do but it does takes such a long time to get the the best bits. Bit to much waffle at times, which is even worse if it's something of no interest.

Saying that, I know if a subject isn't of interest to me, I can just FF it. Since there's no scripted silliness, you know you're just missing the piece and nothing else, which makes it an easy watch.
Yes, for which reason i tend to Sky plus it and start watching half an hour in so I can FF anything that I find dull. Don't get me wrong, i can see the attraction of rallycross but in the old days, they used real cars and not these hybrid bespoke multi-million quid machines which is the part I find boring....similar to the Paris-Daker piece - I find these cars irrelevant - bring back manufacturer sponsored saloon car racing with some connection to the real world, not 600bhp 4WD "DS3s".
Yeah, I always record it and skip the dull bits.

I'm clearly in a minority. I like Johnny. You could see he really loved the RX. Though I will admit it felt a bit overlong as a section because of the constant recaps
Fuel economy - Solid, but as above, no shocker.
Transit - As expected. Wonder if they've heard of VW's nutter van (IIRC 5 cyl diesel and 175BHP) Was featured on TG a while back
Alternatives. Scooby Legacy would be my pick.
Caterham. Just seems pointless to me. But then I think the same of a lot of these dedicated track cars. You'll be faster, but would you have more fun than if you were in a 998 GT3? I imagine a lot of them will just sit in garages their whole lives waiting for the 3 days you can run them in the UK.

7/10 episode.

Watched this last night, Really surprised by Tiffs massive error in his RS6 review, "This ones an auto but if your looking at a manual make sure the gearbox is OK" Oops!

I was literally about to post about this, I'm a huge C5 RS6 fan and I was amazed at that clanger.

Unless I've completely got my wires crossed and it was a euro option or something, but I thought that the C5 RS6 was entirely auto only, as they didn't have a manual box up to the job at the time?

Not really a base model Golf they are comparing that GTI to, the 150 PS 2.0 TDI is very much mid range with 5 less powerful engines available beneath it. Renders it a pretty pointless comparison IMO.

It is pointless. Who'd go out and choose that diesel against that GTI? Only a rep, that's who.

I get the impression that this series should have aired late last year.

Old v New. Interesting, but not great.
Renault. Erm? Pointless
Alternatives. Find a decent 5GTTT from £2,5 and they never mentioned head gaskets?
FOS - Short and strangely out of date. Why Juha?
4 Series - I'm with Johnny on this. It's a 3 series Coupe. BMW have dropped a bk here! There will never be a M3 with the right number of doors ever again! frown Looks good and obviously goes good as you'd expect.

Not my fav episode. But watchable of course. I've enjoyed this series overall far more than the last series of TG. Think that's telling

Just catching up on the last couple of episodes after being away for a week...

The Transit van test was amusing.

The old vs new Heroes test should have included the latest equivalent 'sporty' car as well as the 'cooking' car to show how much the game has moved along.

Switched the heros one off after 2 mins. Is it German gear or something?! Series started off strongly and went a bit downhill towards then end. It doesn't hold my attention all the way through the episode, unlike WD, SOS or even TG.

Still an improvement over what it used to be though.

Loved Tiff & Jason rallying, they really are a great telly team those two.

Rallying. Just felt a bit overlong is all. Everytime I think of Tiff scaring Jason I think of this video though. biggrin

Alternatives. Ooh I dunno which I'd have. Evo I think.
SQ5 - Interesting.

Not so much in this episode, but it was the last of the current series so I'll forgive them. Overall was a good series I think

I have to say that Tiff was really grating on my nerves in this episode - a bit too full of himself. Still enjoyed it though. smile

What's this tweet about then ? From Tiff just before the show aired.

"Just five minutes to tune into @DiscoveryUK for last @FifthGearTV of the series and maybe the last ever ... not to be missed!!!"

Yes, not sure if he was just playing up to a persona for tv, but he came across as a total arse.
